As for observations, it is a pro-style offence but what was encouraging to me was that some of what they did looked very similar to Penn State's spread (I think this has been mentioned a few times before). Assuming Denard were to stay, I think he could fit in to the offence, albeit not as a drop-back passer like Luck. But you could see even with Luck that his mobility helped even in a pro system.

The kickass tight end that's played the most this year is a senior. Mr Koger has quite a bit of promise, however.

I got the same feeling during the tape. We all assume that there will be a "drop off" in what would presumably be Harbaugh's first year...but...our players can run this. We will have a veteran O-Line, a kickass TE that never seems to get the love he deserves, weapons galore at WR and QB...and hopefully a legit running back. Harbaugh will find ways to put point up, and hopefully eliminate all of the turnovers and atrocious special teams play.
And getting a competent defensive coach can only help that side of the ball, as GERG has already proved that a stuffed animal doesn't work.

Oregon has been doing that to everyone. Cal is the only team that held them down. Stanford was up 18 at one point in the game. At Autzen Stadium.
Not bad considering 4 years ago, Oregon was a double digit win program and Stanford was a single digit win program. That digit being 1.
What is important to understand about the Cardinal: Stanford cycled through freshmen like every other program does and they played and they got better. The whole thing progressed free of excuses and with a coach who immediately put himself under pressure by guaranteeing they'd be a power program the first time he met the media.
180 out from what the last few years have been like around here. Where all we get are the coaches' promises that "we are getting better" while the blowout losses mount. No sense of urgency bein projected at all and no minimum baseline goals being announced.
I respect everyone's right to have contrary opinions, but there is a strange attachment to one way of doing things by some pretty intelligent people on here. Rich might be the smartest guy in the room and his loyal followers might be the smartest guys on this board, but that superior knowledge hasn't produced what matters most.

Not sure if this makes me a "hater," but I feel like Mr. Hopkins is the type of back that would do very, very well playing in a Harbaugh-run offensive set.
I am mystified that we haven't seen more of him this year, because he appears to possess enough raw physical tools to be a good, possibly excellent B1G back.

The concern was that the Niners were hiring Michael Lombardi at NFL Network, who worked with both Harbaughs at some point and has a great relationship with them. He interviewed and they gave the job to the other guy later in the day.

My brother in Virginia just forwarded me an article from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, detailing Harbaugh and Luck's rise at Stanford. In it, they discussed how the Stanford playbook is larger than almost all NFL teams (who have unlimited practice time). One of the particular passages that stood out to me:
Stanford doesn't so much have 350 unique plays as it has a number of plays run from a variety of formations. The same running play might appear different because the tight end shifts one time while a wide receivergoes in motion another.
"We do that, too," Warren said
On each of those plays, the defense has to adjust. If it doesn't, Stanford can get a tight end blocking a cornerback or a wide receiver covered by a linebacker.
Stanford should win the overwhelming majority of those matchups. Its 467 yards and 40 points per game, along with an 11-1 record, indicate it did.
There is a counter to all that offense — have smart, strong, talented defensive players who are quick enough to make the necessary adjustments and stops.

WTF is this a Mich site or a fucking Stanford site,we can all agree there are three legs on a stool called football and we posess only one. Changes WILL be made next week and whatever DB decides we will hope it is the right call. Only time will tell and I will back 100% his choice. But stop with this horseshit, two different teams 170 different players and you think it means anything. There are 360 coaches and coordinators in CFB plus ones not working at the time plus numerous quality professional coaches and you have eyes for only one.

I think "fuck off" is appropriate in these circumstances. OP posted something of value, that I and a number of others enjoyed. It was inarguably relevant, since there is certainly a non-zero chance that Harbaugh is our coach next year. The scolds who choose to make obnoxious comments telling the OP to "stop posting this crap" add nothing and are extremely annoying distractions.
I've long been an advocate of the "if a topic doesn't interest you, don't read it" approach. Even more so when a topic is interesting and indisputably relevant. If you post on such a topic only to whine that OTHERS shouldn't care about it, you should be told to go far, far away.

Because he was being sarcastic. He wasn't really making a serious request to evaluate another candidate, he was obnoxiously saying that this is a "pointless" post -- which is clear from his previous comment, in which he said "what's the point of this". If he feels that way, better to just not click on the post, rather than to annoy with sarcastic comments.

Need the toughness back, not only on the defense, but the offense as well. Saw too many players go down yesterday, not just on injuries but also fall when MSU players brought them down with one arm tackles, meanwhile MSU ran over and through our D. Need a return of the days when other teams players would get injured playing Michigan, and not the other way around.

To everyone complaining about this thread, it's time to look at reality. Before yesterday's game, I was the first to jump on a CC post, but the season is over, and it ended in a way which all but guarantees Harbaugh's entrance if he accepts the offer. I'm a RR guy, but it's just not believable after yesterday that we won't pursue Harbaugh. Also, what else is there to talk about? The season is over.
