META: OT Ban Slightly Lifted
Bowl is over. Off topic threads are going to start being dealt with less stringently, at least by me.
Things stupid enough may still be deleted. What constitutes stupid is up to individual mod interpretations. Sports news past Michigan is welcome. Brett Favre retirement speculation still isn't welcome. Or if Lebron has another decision. Or Tim Tebow. Okay, maybe Tim Tebow.
Work with us, we'll work with you impose our will anyway.
Happy commenting.

OT: LOL Kittehs? Can they be posted as an entire thread. They seem to have the opposite impact of the CC talk.

OT: For breakfast today, I had toast and coffee. Which breakfast foods do you eat, and what impact do they have on your day?

When I eat no breakfast, I feel like shit. However, if I ate shit for breakfast I'd feel like Shooter McGavin. Guess that means I'll stick with my fruity pebbles.

This is the perfect opportunity for me to rekindle the debate over emoticons at the end of text inside perentheses.
(Because this looks weird :))
(And because this just looks like a colon inside the perentheses :)
WHAT IS THE CORRECT WAY???

No emoticons, ever.

Yeah. Too RCMB-ish. Remember when AOL came out with them and everyone was like "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVAR!!!!111!!!"?

You misspelled srsly :(

A parenthetical is intended as an aside to the reader to clarify some point in the surrounding text (as is my understanding, such as this parenthetical right here). Emoticons help clarify the emotional content of a given piece of text, which seems redundant with what parentheticals are supposed to do. So, I guess my answer would be to re-write the parenthetical in a way that does not require the use of an emoticon to understand its meaning.
Yeah, I'm a Michigan grad all right.

Wish there could be an archive of totally random, but funny OT's.
YouTubes, GIFs, crazy exchanges, etc... would be great to have a go-to spot.
