I would doubt that considering how well the team is doing. The only possibility would be if Haley is actually pulling the strings with the offense. Charlie came in to "fix" the QB, however most announcers/analysts have credited Haley with the play of Cassell. Who knows.

for all weis's failings as a teacher and all the noise generated about his self-proclaimed genius, he was an excellent offensive coordinator. he had his all-too-frequent moments of being overly clever (particularly with college kids), but he turned a truly moribund offense into an excellent one overnight.

in 3 of his 5 seasons, the offense performed at a top notch level. if he could ever figure out how to teach kids to block/tackle and generally to motivate college kids, he would have succeeded as a head coach. while certainly unpopular here, weis and rich rod have quite a bit in common, particularly in terms of their failings.

his motivation is interesting. if this comes to pass, i'd love to hear what he had to say. at times i believed that he really preferred coaching college kids (even if he wasn't as good at it) and this would certainly fit with that interpretation.

I feel like he's great at coaching players that are already talented, like those in the NFL, or when he inherited Brady Quinn and the players developed by Willingham at ND. However, I highly question his ability to actually develop players, which is key to being successful in college football.

I could see why Muschamp, being a first-time HC and a D guy, would want an experienced offensive ace. And Weis certainly is experienced and talented on that side of the ball (er, schematically and whatnot). But Weis is a pompous, arrogant old know-it-all. Inevitably, he'd think of himself as the real head-coach. That's a collision waiting to happen. I'd enjoy waiting for it. Like watching Nascar.

Living here in KC one of the more interesting quotes from Weis as he was hired for OC of the Chiefs was that he was coming back to the pro game where he felt both respected and appreciated.  I am of the opinion that being he will be paid by ND for the next 3 years, is doing well and has gained back his credebility right where he is at I do not see him leaving for another college job at even a head coaching position let alone as an assistant.

His team is successful in the NFL, he's making more money, and he already bombed at his dream college job, so why would he want another when he could work towards an NFL head job? He can always say it wasn't scheme but all the other stuff (recruiting, academics, alumni, etc) that made him fail in college, but Mr. GM, if you get me talent, I will so win games with them.

I cannot wait to watch Muschamp, Al Golden, and Jimbo Fisher SLUG. IT. OUT. in Recruiting, Coaches, everything, over the next few years.
