Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl Open Thread

North Carolina vs Tennessee in what is certain to be a game we're all talking about 20 years from now. Enjoy.

FWIW, I'm a huge fan of (checks) Tennessee here. Go Vols!

Drink every time you see Ben Franklin's face. That said, don't drink too much, because the Bridgeport Education Holiday Bowl is coming up next and might include talk of "Leaders" and "Legends." If either are mentioned in context with the Big 10's divisions, drink a bottle of Everclear, get naked, and burn a metal folding chair.

Nebraska should add another W to the pile tonight against a team they already beat by five touchdowns earlier in the year. Or does that one count for the Big 10 now? Think I'm going to wait until the beatdown is official before I decide.

Washington is the legit 3rd place team in that league (same record as USC but beat them head to head). Arizona got put in a shitty spot because SC couldn't go bowling, but this one is only such a big mismatch because the conference is so bad (and it wasn't much better last year when Arizona got shellacked by Nebraska in this same bowl game).

EDIT: Also, thanks for the "Jason Witten must be the fastest man alive to keep getting so open" flashback. Good times.

Corporate sponsors allow these fantastic matchups to be staged in front of half-empty stadiums instead of having a playoff. I feel like they deserve credit for that.

Does ESPN pay whoever that guy is that sings "I am a Champion" or does he pay them to get on TV? Logic says the latter, I mean, is anyone tuning in to watch him sing? However, my got says the former is correct.

Maybe the interception stands, but it looked to me like it should have been an incompletion as possession was not established until the Tennessee DB had skidded out-of-bounds.

In the old days, before you had to maintain possession throughout the ground impact, sure. But the ball was squirming around on his stomach after the DB had hit the ground, and by the time the squirming had stopped, he had slid out-of-bounds, IMO.

FA and I are joking above, hoping for a tie so we both can win today. He has the Vols +1 and I have UNC +1. Wait, what?!?!?!

The spread moved today from UNC -1 to UNC +1.

Not that outlandish, but the same thing happend with the KSU/Scuse game. The day started as Cuse +1, but ended with Cuse -1. By the way, how about all the extra point shenanigans impacting all that money?

Anyway, the late money--the steam some would call it--won today on the Orange. Will it again with the Vols. Should be a fun fourth quarter

Just thought it was interesting that the same thing played out in two games today

Giving up a 3rd and 18 is asinine. Unless it's our defense.
And the refs are WAY too involved today.

And idiot ref, it doesn't have to go across line of scrimmage when he's bring hit while throwing.
I think we know where all that Vol money came from today...
