What are your biggest concerns about the game?

Submitted by SalvatoreQuattro on
For me, it is defense and turnovers. Can the defense at least slow down MSU? Can DRob and the Boys hold on to the ball?

If this topic has been discussed feel free to nuke it. But I am trying to make up for my CC thread. I'm making an effort!

Though honestly my biggest concern is that the announcing crew makes the game unbearable and watching on mute forces me to miss the sound of Mike Martin grinding Bulldog bones to make his bread.

Well, Sir Blue Dragon, I think you need to ready yourself for a CC-love fest, because it is inevitable.

For me, its simply turnovers. We know what to expect to a certain degree (hopefully some improvement, but generally pretty giving). We know the offense can gain yards, but can they do so without the turnovers. It is the one and only X-Factor in my mind. Our defense will be our defense as it has been all year. Our kicking will be an issue as it has been all year. Our offense will be our offense, but can it operate full throttle (UCONN style) without the turnovers. If so, BOOM, DENARD'D!

I'm actually concerned that you won't get the ban-hammer before the end of the game Saturday.

Edit :  If this was sarcasm,  my apologies.  My meter has been a little out of whack the past few weeks.  If not....then kick gravel!

What's sarcasm?  I truly want RR fired...he has been a disaster from the beginning (when RR didn't eat the buyout from WVU and spare UM the expense) to just the other day when Zettel (a guy who would have been Blue on Feb. 4 LAST YEAR, if not for this train-wreck) decided to go to Penn State which I still can't believe. If you can rationalize Zettel's change of heart, then you truly have your head in the sand.  This is from a guy who has been watching UM football since 1964 and bleed blue...I also sit in Sect 1 row 48 in the big house so I put my money where my mouth is and have since the 70s...even now I drive/fly on weekends from NC to the games.  I've even been rooting for RR but the PSU game this year and then the OSU game was the nail in the coffin for me...UM is not close and next year will be a repeat of this year, bank it...except ND will probably beat us.  Sorry guys, "neg away" but this guy's got to go.

That it may be the last time I get to see Denard wearing the winged helmet.   As much as I understand the desire to change coaches, I've really come to love the way the current offense opperates, and was just realizing a couple days ago that I will really miss it if RR is fired.  I wish there was a way he could stay as the OC, but realize that's just not possible.

Waking up in time to get drunk before going to the Michigan bar.  Effing Pacific time zone plus New Year's Eve derrinkin' will make this no small task.

Our D is going to show up for realz. Strangely optimistic that they are going to come prepared and beat a little snot out of those SEC clowns.

I'm also kind of concerned this guy may play for MSU and rain the thunder down on us from above:

who don't understand that New Year's Day is for football and nursing hangovers. It isn't a day to get families together and go sledding at Mount Hood. Yet my wife (a UM grad herself) seems to think that family time at the mountain is a better way to spend NYD, instead of me camped in the basement watching the game.

Bunch of damn communists is what they are.

I felt like our season went downhill fast after Shaw got injured and we didn't have a reliable threat in the backfield with Denard.

So my biggest concern is that we a healthy RB that MSU must respect to complement Denard on the run option.

I'm hoping my family can calm the fuck down... our flight to Orlando's been delayed a half hour and my nana is treating it like the end of the world, my sister is sleeping on a pile of bags, and my dad is loudly calling everyone travelling with a small dog in a bag "dumbasses." And then once we get down there, we still have to get our rental, drive to Jacksonville and check in at the hotel. I'm going to my first bowl ever and I'm so happy to have tickets that I think I can handle whatever happens once we get there. UPDATE: Flight delayed another half hour. Grandpa has just explained to Nana that "time is worthless now," and Nana has said, "This better be a good football game or Michigan will be hearing from me!" Ahh family time.
