Harbaugh-Stanford Recruiting Commits

Submitted by PKnoll_17 on

Sorry if this has been discussed, looked and didn't see it, But IF....Harbaugh did come to Michigan, does anyone know if Michigan was in the running with any of their prospects. Hopefully we'll be able to bring in equal talent if RR did leave as we'd most likely lose Dee Hart, Dallas Crawford, and others? - Here's Rivals commit list for Stanford.......

... and I actually majored in English undergrad, but went into marketing because it was much more lucrative, so no, I can't teach your English class. Regardless, your grammar and your post leave much to be desired; in other words, they both suck.

Most of his commits will be following him to the 49ers. Let's be civil and respectful here; until Rich is fired, no coaching change discussion. Merry Holidays and joy to the world!

I speak hourly with all of the Stanford prospects. They tell me, unequivocally, that they will all be attending Stanford next year.

Sorry to burst your bubble, champ.

OSUMC, I am outing you - I know who you really are . . . Dave Brandon!  Amiright?  I mean, you must be, since you know with 10% certainty that which even the most insidery of insiders has no idea.

Oh, if you are not, than your assertion that "RR is NOT leaving" would be baseless and of even less value than the original post.

Don't apologize. I mean this beats the snot out of the Pizza Pizza Bowl talk.  The thing to do IMO is to look at the type of player he is getting there. It might be instructive as to what he would bring to another school he ends up coaching at.

I was just looking at the Rivals/Scout lists this morning. JH has two four star middle linebackers from NJ and GA, two states we've had success recruiting from. According to Scout, they are the 9th and 11th ranked MLBs in the country. I would think we'd have a decent shot at them once JH is hired.

I have become indifferent about JH coming here.  I think he is a pretty good coach and can possibly win for us.  I still support RR having another year, but both guys are good coaches and I see better times ahead.

I have one question about recruiting whether it's Stanford commits or others.  JH probably will pitch academics and how great academics are at Michigan.  What is he going to say if a recruit's parents bring up his remarks from the past.

I've been reading this blog for the past 6 months without an account, but lately all I see is pure negativity and bashing of other's posts and felt compelled to say something. The whole point of this thing is for ALL fans to share their thoughts and viewpoints. Since when did someone have to worry, preemptively apologize, and get criticized this much when posting new topics?? Redundancy is to be expected considering the state of uncertainty surrounding the program. Goodness, bring it back to an informal blog would we.

In all fairness I don't think it was the great job that he did coaching this team as much as the brand name of Michigan brings that got us there. I don't think if, say Illinois, had been 7-5 this year the people on the Gator Bowl Committee would have wanted to get them. Michigan has a name that sells tickets and brings in ratings. That is not because of what RR has done.

As to the lack of support comment, I am sure that you are right that people on this blog site talking about a CC is what is killing their good time in JAX. I figure you just warmed RR's heart by your comments. That is of course unless he does not read these blogs.

You don't think the bowl committee would have wanted to host an exciting player like Denard Robinson?  That is a little more than just the Michigan name.  On top of Michigan having a large following, I think by bringing Denard to town it ensures some quality ratings which has a lot to do with RR. Denard is not Denard without RR.

I agree with this point as well. Lets take it a step further and say that because RR is on the hot seat, the media will be all over this game. Win is he in? Loss is he gone? Michigan has a lot of reasons to be in this game and after a few years of not having a bowl game it's nice to be back.

Yeah I agree, some people on here get carried away with the insults. I find it to be ridiculous how a person can get beat up over a double post or (gasp) (hand in front of my mouth) talking about a coaching change. I typically get on here and stay caught up on what is going on with my favorite team, and I must say that the majority of posters are descent people but as with most things, it only takes a few select bad apples. Keep reading and just don't let them get to you. GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I joined for the same reasons. Whether RR stays or not, I'll always support my University - in football or whatever. But I gotta say, if the man does get canned, I'm hoping these negative, venomous attacks will leave with him. I like reading opinions, even if I don't agree with them. What I don't like reading are negative jerk comments - those are pointless and useless. No one should ever have to apologize for making a comment. Doing so, or saying so, makes my head want to as-plode.

Since you've been reading for a whole six months, you surely can recall what a bastion of sanity this blog used to be before the endless drivel from the HURR FIRE DICK ROD crowd. Wait, no, you would have had to be around a couple years to remember that...

This place has gone way down hill from what it once was. Granted,  it was mostly unavoidable since the inception of MgoPoints, but still. I'd love to clear out some of the BS that has inundated this place since it became hugely popular.

We're all in it for the same purpose. It's true there are very mixed emotions, so some defensiveness for RR is understandable. It's also not surprising that many of us sit around wanting more to think about it, when we are just waiting for answers.

A good deal of civility is necessary for us to get along and make this an even more intelligent blog, without the hyper-criticisms. And a heaping pile of photos of bowl practices and excitement about watching our boys play in less than a week should improve our collective health, as well!!

I was thinking the same thing.  Possible coaching change discussion always draws anger, but everyone's fine with Little Skeezers Bowl and Minnesota Vikings threads?  Wow.  Maybe we ARE turning into the new Notre Dame.

no doubt JH has been on the recruting trail himself.  it must be a recruiting problem for Stanford, if their recruilts think JH is going to bolt and Stanford is going to slide back into the bottom of the Pac-10.....whether its the JH to MIchigan or JH to the NFL, what is the buzz on the left coast?
