didn't everyone HATE Revis his first year because he kept missing field goals at the start of the year?

I'm still holding out on Gibbons/Broekheziun (the longer I type the worse this spelling becomes) being a 4 year starting kicker that we'll all laugh about how bad they were in the first year during their next 3 seasons.

I would be nice not to have to go for it on every 4th down on the opponents side of the field, because we have that certainty that no field goal will ever be made, even at extra point distance. Though maybe once the D gets better, Michigan won't be multiple td's behind and have to go for it just to keep up.

...not correct, Magnus. See this:

ARTICLE 4. a. A field goal place kick is a kick by a player of the team in possession while the ball is controlled on the ground by a teammate.

b. A free kick place kick is a kick by a player of the team in possession while the ball is positioned on a tee or the ground. It may be controlled by a teammate. The ball may be positioned on the ground and contacting the tee.

c. A tee is a device that elevates the ball for kicking purposes. It may not elevate the ball’s lowest point more than one inch above the ground (A.R. 2-15-4-I).

So, only free kick place kicks may use a tee, and tees cannot exceed one inch in height.

I've never watched Kicker highlights before, much less 6 minutes of them. That being said, the kid looks great and i'm stoked! That 57 yarder at the end is off the ground, so i don't think we have too much to worry about with that. As with all kickers, it will come down to the mental side once he gets to campus, which we just can't evaluate til the time comes.

We're behind you Matt! Thanks for going blue. May you bomb field goals and kickoffs for the next 4 years!!!

Isn't it kind of rare to have two kickers (FG/extra points) on scholarship so close to each other eligibility wise?  I could see having a sr and a frosh but Gibbons and this guy are only separated by one year.  Should Goudis or Gibbons establish themselves as the kicker next year does the other possibly lose their scholarship?
