Bama to Improve Dr. Phillips Facilities
http://www.wftv.com/video/26166791/index.html
Saban is at it again. Paying $50 dollars an hour to use the DP facilities all the while improving the facilities for free. Now obviously ESPN will spin this as a charitable gesture by Saban, but it has slime all over it.

That sounds not safe for work, for home, or for wife.
(Edit: I thank the OP for at least leaving it in the body of the post after changing the subject line, so this still makes a little sense).
December 21st, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Maybe Saban can help Dee braid his hair too. WTF, Saban is a jerk-off.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:11 PM ^
Saban slime all over the DP facilities? This post and Saban are NSFW or H.
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:07 AM ^
forgive me for being uninformed but what does NSFW or H, mean?
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:16 AM ^
Not Safe For Work or Home. A warning in case you have a curious boss or a marauding family.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:09 PM ^
Fuck Nick Saban.
December 21st, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
is worse than slimy. I wish SHE was still at sparty.
December 21st, 2010 at 9:59 PM ^
I don't. As slimy as he is, he might be the best football coach in the country.
December 21st, 2010 at 10:42 PM ^
Pleez, the same team that was undefeated last year lost 3
December 21st, 2010 at 11:47 PM ^
Perhaps you should double check what defensive players they lost since last year. I'll give you a hint; they lost a lot.
December 22nd, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
Pack sunscreen I can see you'll be needing it by the look of your posts.
December 21st, 2010 at 11:36 PM ^
This video inspired me to log in, just to +1 you. Thanks you for the laugh.
December 22nd, 2010 at 8:30 AM ^
is excellent. I think it will be the song I play in my head whenever we lose a really good recruit. It just makes sense...
December 22nd, 2010 at 10:55 AM ^
love me some cee-lo
December 22nd, 2010 at 2:04 AM ^
two proposals:
1) add spellchecker to mgoblog
2) change said spellchecker on mgoblog so that words typed "saban" autocorrect to "SATAN."
December 22nd, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
I've discovered there is a spell checker, but you have to switch to plain text editor to get in, in which case there is so much gobbled-y-gook html text, that sometimes it is hard to see what you were writing. Upon further investigation, while Satan is a suggested correction for Saban, it is forth on the list after Saba, Sabin and Saran, and does not auto correct to Satan.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:10 PM ^
Can Alabama do this? Maybe we need to go improve some of our pipeline schools as well. If we don't get HaHa, I hope he goes to Florida, can't stand Saban.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:17 PM ^
Excellent. That means all of OUR recruits will have nicer facilities to work out in and will be in better shape when they enroll at Michigan.
Thanks Tide. See ya in 2012 - don't forget to say TTFN to Mr. Hart. You'll be seeing a LOT him that year coming out of our backfield - not yours.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:53 PM ^
I'm with you... good thoughts!

In a hypothetical (HYPOTHETICAL PEOPLE, DONT FREAK OUT) world where Dee switches his committment to Bama, would this be considered a recruiting violation?
December 21st, 2010 at 6:19 PM ^
Something tells me no since the improvements benefits all of Dr. Phillips High School. Doesn't make it any more ethical. I doubt Saban has Dr. Phillips' future as his sincere intention or even knows the name of their punter.
I think Saban's face should be a recruiting violation.
Saban is making it hard for me to root for them in the Citrus Bowl. I might just wish the same thing when osu and PSU play each other. The stadium collapses.
December 21st, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
Well Cam Newton's father would have made renovations benefitting his church and therefore his parishoners. And really, aren't we all God's children?
Boom, no recruiting violation even if he had gotten the money.
December 21st, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
Isn't that what the NCAA ruled?
December 22nd, 2010 at 12:36 AM ^
Oh, but he did get the money ...
Allegedly from a $200-250K anonymous donation from Auburn boosters; though that part may be a bit hard to prove, since they neglected to write "War Eagle!" on the side of the paper bag with the cash.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:23 PM ^
No question about it. This is bullshit! Imagine if Michigan did something like that. Complete bullshit!
December 22nd, 2010 at 8:38 AM ^
...transparently obvious that something unethical, if not illegal, is going on here.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:40 PM ^
Your hypothetical world sucks.
In my hypothetical world the female to make ratio is 25-1 and all of them have been genetically engineered for maximum sexuality. Manogamy is a quant notion observed in the past somewhere and beer is free. All Michigan sports teams go undefeated but need miracle comebacks to win AT Michigan State each year thereby ensuring much gnashing of teeth and yelling by said State fans. All cars made look like 1969 GTO Judge convertables with Ram Air IV engines and get 75 miles per gallon running on water. They turn the quarter mile in 10 seconds flat by the way.
I know you're suppose to wish for world peace, end of Cancer, end of war, blah blah blah but you've got your hypothetical world and i've got mine.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:55 PM ^
Manogamy = marriage to one's hand?
Very quaint indeed.
December 21st, 2010 at 7:33 PM ^
I would like to live in your world.

Is he hiring?
December 21st, 2010 at 6:15 PM ^
What?
December 21st, 2010 at 6:18 PM ^
I'm sorry, but if you ask me that is a violaton. So if it's free it's okay. Honestly, there must be something wrong with that. If that is the case, I think Michigan should rotate practices at every major HS with a pipeline to Michigan during their offseason workouts.
Who in the world would call that fair and/or who from the NCAA authorized that. In my opinion, they should be practicing at a near-by small college or university. I call BS!
BS!
December 21st, 2010 at 6:19 PM ^
I heard about this a few days back and got immensely pissed off that the NCAA would allow such a thing. Now I'm pissed again. Thanks.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:25 PM ^
How is this even authorized. Honestly, I wish somebody could explain it to me. Can somebody tell me how this doesn't provide extra recruiting benefits to the university????
Roll Tide????More like Roll Saban!!!!
December 21st, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
I think providing collateral benefits to a particular high school in this situation is a lot like adding superfluous punctuation marks. Everybody can do it, but not everybody does.

and I put DP to keep the title at a minimum. Consider it changed
December 21st, 2010 at 6:35 PM ^
Much obliged. I've changed by down vote to an up vote accordingly.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:35 PM ^
There are not enough letters in this sentence to describe how much I hate Saban.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:42 PM ^
December 21st, 2010 at 6:36 PM ^
This is so transparently dirty, even for Saban and the SEC. I mean, they're not even in the same state! I could see if they were across the street like Ann Arbor Pioneer, but come on.
December 21st, 2010 at 6:51 PM ^
there's the obvious difference that Michigan isn't practicing at Pioneer High School
December 21st, 2010 at 9:59 PM ^
thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't aware. And here I thought the practice field of Pioneer was where great Michigan teams were forged and men were made Michigan Men. I don't think they're practicing there with pure intentions either, in case you're saying that makes it okay. Scratching a check is just an obvious way to cover their asses while they stay as close as possible to those precious recruits.

F Nick Saban !
