OT - PSU close to 4th straight NC

Submitted by trueblueintexas on

Penn State is close to bringing a National Championship to the B1G Ten in women's volleyball.  (I know, I know, pretty sad sports night on TV). This would be their 4th straight NC. Congrat's to them, yea for the B1G Ten.

imagine being a penn state volleyball player and winning a national title every year. aside from that, i can't imagine many schools have won four straight titles in any sport

I know it's D3 but my alma mater (Augustana, IL) won for football NC's in a row in the early 80's.  Also in D3 football, the same two teams have played the last 6 years in a row in the D3 National Championship splitting 3-3. (Wisconsin-Whitewater and Mount Union).

Hey, volleyball doesn't mean a slow sports night. The fact that Cal isn't competitive is why it's a dull thing to watch. If you watch any Big Ten volleyball during the conference season, it's damn exciting every night.

Penn State's coach is still a douche. Just because he's been there 31 years doesn't make him as likeable as Joe Pa.

Just tuned in for the match after watching Dr.P go down in the FL 6A Championship game.  Congratulations Penn State, Rose now has 5 NC's most in history, great quality guy to boot.  I needed some good news after Dee & company's loss!

I think it was safe to call it a dynasty after year three and the epic final against Destiny Hooker and Texas. I would have considered year two with the epic match with Nebraska. Hell, this game was just uncompetitive.

What's truly amazing was that this Penn State team was probably the weakest team out of the four years. No knock on them as they still were VERY good, but I don't think they'd held up against Hodge and Glass over the last three years.
