OT: UM Early Admissions Decisions

Submitted by the_white_tiger on

I just thought I should share some good news with the rest of the MGoCommunity, a lot of negativity has been going on lately, but today I was given the opportunity to attend the University of Michigan in the form of an acceptance e-mail. It has always been my dream to attend UM, and once it became painfully apparent I would not be the next Braylon Edwards, I went for the more academic route, and it's great that I can finally realize that dream. 'Tis the season for a lot of great news coming to high school seniors.

Go Blue!

P.S. No, I cannot kick field goals either, sorry.

If I may give a piece of unsolicited advice, do all that you can to stretch those 4 years into 5.  I would give my left arm to be a Michigan undergrad for one more year!

(And, yes, definitely stop bringing books home or studying in any way, shape, or form for these next 5-6 months.  There'll be plenty of that coming very soon . . . )

My solution as an out of state student: graduate in 3.5 and stay in Ann Arbor for the second semester of your senior year.  That way, you can fit 2 semesters worth of partying into 1, making it effectively 4.5 years for the price of 3.5.  Granted, I don't get another season, but considering the price of out-of-state student season tickets is effectively 45k/year...shouldn't I be getting pretty close to a luxury box with that?

Great way to stretch your undergrad time, and get some real-world experience.  I've interviewed/hired a lot of co-op students and new graduates for entry level positions - work experience while pursuing a degree is of high value.

There's a time and a place for everything, and it's called college.

Enjoy the 4 greatest years of your life.

Unless you're like Thomas Callahan.  Then it'll be the 7 greatest years.
