Top 5 Michigan Football Moments Of The Year

Submitted by Denarded on

I know the year isn't over, but with the end in sight I would like to look back at the year that was 2010. My top 5 moments in order..

1. In the very beginning of the season, Brock Mealer leading the team out of the tunnel and touching the banner.

2. Sending the house against Illinois.

3. Denard's 87 yard td run against Notre Dame.

4. Cam Gordon's fumble return touchdown against Purdue.

5. Denard's 35 yard td run against UConn, the first moment of an amazing season. "That's Six"

What's your top 5 moments?

Edit** Sorry meant just Michigan Football moments.

I would replace #4 with Denard's first quarter against bowling green.  I know it wasn't one moment, but holy crap that was like watching a video game played on rookie mode.

That moment with Brock carries so much good backstory, including the doctor's prognosis and Elliot and Barwis and the S&C staff and of course, RR. #16 and his awesomeness collectively stands out, and various other plays throughout the season, including Roundtree and some interceptions. However, they finally all start to blend together. Brock's moment will always stand out, through the years.

The other big moment for me was the win vs. Purdue. I am a staunch RR supporter, and that win guaranteed a winning season, and the possibility that he would remain to coach another day. (not just New Year's Day, but in the coming year.)

1) Hemingway's catch vs. Illinois.

2)Final Drive agains ND. Marched us right down the field.

3) 1st Quarter against BGSU, so insane.

4) First drive of the UConn game, at that point you knew this season was going to be fun.

5) Defense's play vs, Purdue. Yeah I realize it is Purdue, but we didn't allow a TD, and that is quite an acomplishment for our defense.

Yeah that very first drive against UConn was epic...

I didn't look at the depth chart beforehand so I honestly had no idea which QB would get the nod.

I remember squinting very hard @ the offensive huddle before they took the field....

Oh, here they come.

I take a look at the dude in the shotgun. Yep. Dreads!

Denard!

This one play brought back happiness to a past 2 years of hatred, alligations, and testimony. After this play I was so proud of this program, and the people around it. This put us back in the bowl season, and I think we'll be making another streak for a while.

for me had to be Denard's run @ ND.  In such a big game on national television, that was probably the most pumped I've been all year.  Definitely the win that elated me the most this season.

for me was that 3rd and 5 conversion on the final drive to set us up at the 2 with 20 seconds left.  I was at that game and that was the game in my mind....

The win vs Indiana was big at the time. Ya, I know its Indiana but it was 2 undefeated teams at the time and it preceded the MSU game. It wasn't until around 1:00pm, the following week , when Ohio st. was pummeling Indiana, (28-0 in the second quarter), that I was like, "uh-oh".

"...and they'll never catch him....Denard Robinson...shoelaces flopping in the wind!"

Best moment of the season for me.  I think I repeated that phrase so many times my family wanted to shoot me.
