In the same vicinty as Barwis. Undoubtedly, they would fight like ravaging wolves.

He's too busy doing flexing tricks with his pecs in the mirror and redefining his version of "unnecessary football acts."
God I hate that guy.

Go Blue !

It will be nice to see the officials from the Big East actually getting an up close look at what real football looks like. Enjoy
December 15th, 2010 at 8:10 PM ^
right because RR runs the exact opposite of any scheme run in the big east.
December 15th, 2010 at 8:17 PM ^
What does scheme have to do with anything? My point would be UConn is representing them in the BCS bowl game. That is the team we beat by 20 and is currently a 3 TD underdog. That is how I came to the conclusion that the Big East stinks.

The Big East bashing is justified this year. But while Cincy was proven to be a pretender last year, the league had a fun title race that captivated the country on the last weekend of the season, and looked just as legit last year as the Big Ten looked in 2006. 2007 was the year when WV almost played for the national title, and 2006 had three BE teams finish 11-2. Three of the last 5 years they've been nationally relevant, which is more so than the ACC. So if those refs had been there over that period, I'd say they've seen some good football.

I just hope they don't hold a grudge, for you know, beating their conference champ by 20.

+1 for the Volleyball photo. The Zone ftw.
December 15th, 2010 at 8:12 PM ^
Well at least its not the Sunbelt refs.

December 15th, 2010 at 9:33 PM ^
Hey thanks for bringing that up again. That nastalgia causes me to drink.
December 15th, 2010 at 10:00 PM ^
But after this long, can't we look back on that moment with a little bit of humor? After all, in the grand scheme of things it OH MY GOD HE'S RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. HE'S BLACK JESUS. YOU'RE TYLER ECKER.
December 15th, 2010 at 11:50 PM ^
No, sir. To me, he will always be known as Tyler FUCKING Ecker. It's equivocable to a band geek making the tackle vis a vis Stanford Cal. I'm drinkinging. If anything is spelled wrong, ignore it.
December 16th, 2010 at 3:20 AM ^
Heh...you've coined a word!
"Nastalgia: the obsessive recalling of a particularly unpleasant memory."
December 15th, 2010 at 10:07 PM ^
Why are people bitching about the Sunbelt Refs? They knew most of the rules and the game was a wonderful chance for them to try out this new-fangled reply thingie on an actual game.
That was easily the most pissed Lloyd ever was and ever will be in his life. I thought his head was going to explode.
December 15th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
zomg lolz that means Rich Rod can win it because Big East bler bler bler
December 15th, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
This is good news. No joke: Officiating is one of the few things the Big East does well. I try to watch for these things and Big East refs have impressed me.
Big Ten refs do NOT and I can't believe they get so many MNC games.
December 15th, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
Is this because the Big Ten hasn't been in the MNC in the last few years and they want neutral officials? It seems like they often use the biggest conference's officials not playing in the game.
December 16th, 2010 at 8:42 AM ^
I think the main reason we see Big Ten refs so often in the BCS Championship game is simple. If you read the article, the bowl assignments are done by Dave Perry, the NCAA's Coordinator of Football Officials. Dave Perry happens to be a former Big Ten ref and a former Big Ten Coordinator of Football Officials, and all evidence suggests that he is good to his friends and former colleagues.
Obviously, they will use neutral conference officials, but I think simple cronyism is the reason that Big Ten refs seem to be chosen more often than their peers for the biggest BCS games.
December 15th, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
maybe now we won't see as many BS chop block or cut back/crackback/whatever they called on us all year long.
Should be a wide open game.

December 15th, 2010 at 8:58 PM ^
They were great refs. I miss them.
December 16th, 2010 at 9:47 AM ^
I know this is sarcasm, but the thought of seeing them still makes my eyes bleed.

Can theThe Steiner Brothers officiate the Gator Bowl?
December 15th, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^

I read "Big East" as "Hockey East" and felt the strong urge to throw something.
