A)  It appears from all sources that our only option at DT is Mickey Johsnon; I always assumed he was an LSU lock.

Hope I"m wrong or we'll be hurting in 2012 with 3 schol. DTs (Q. Washington, Ash, Big Talbott) and whichever true freshmen we get for the 2012 class.

B)  McEvoy intrigues me - he could redshirt and give the coaches a full year to decide if he (and depth) belongs at QB, TE, or DE.  If the Ricardo to TE is accurate it makes McEvoy's options even more open to compete for whichever spot

C)  Come on down Lamar Dawson (please!); And Mr. Lyons (sure starter at FS in 2011)

D)  Looks like Bryant or bust at OL  (or, maybe a silent commit already!)

Lyons is not a sure starter at FS in 2011.  Theres the returning starter, plus a guy backing him up that saw the field alot (albeit at LB), plus several potential CBs that could move.  Plus, Lyons is considered more of a SS.

I agree with the concern about DT and OL.  Especially DT, depth is scary there.

My call for "sure starter at FS" was more hope than prediction.  We've learned that no high school senior (no matter how many stars) is a sure starter even when injuries/transfers open up an opportunity  (i.e. Cullen Christian)

I don't think we have stopped recruiting Hobbi.

Also, uhhhh two scholorship kickers is THE retarded given our lack of depth at FS and DT...

I will also stick with Tim and his updates.

This seems to a major concern in these parts but I don't get it.

Theres 2 freshman listed at FS (Vinopal and Johnson).  Theres also probably a position switch upcoming for one of the corners (Christian, Floyd, Woolfolk?), given the youth/depth there.

If there was an impact recruit at FS then yeah you take him, but we're mostly talking about 3-star or borderline 4-star players.  Its unlikely there will be a true freshman starter.

IMO, the need for a K, OL, and DL is more dire than adding a middling FS recruit.

Thanks to the guy who linked my blog, glad you liked the post.

I'm pretty darn sure that Michigan has stopped recruiting Cyrus Hobbi, just unsure of the reason why. Most likely option would be that he dropped us, due to the uncertainty surrounding the program.

Ricardo Miller is pretty big now, going over 220lbs. The idea is to play him in a TE/Slot position to create mismatches on the field.

With the Safety position, Lyons is more comfortable closer to the LOS, where Sheldon Royster is the opposite, he's the true deep safety (however reviews say that he needs some tuning -i.e not a impact freshman). Fortunately word out of practice is that Marvin Robinson is performing well at FS. Win!

You can question my information all you want, but my site is a blog, I say what I hear. And I listen to pretty good people.

Thanks. Go blue.

I've heard the Ricardo to TE rumors for a little while, and it's been mentioned here as well.  He's big and not real fast, so it's a good fit I think. Definitely more of a Koger TE than a Webb TE.

Beyer is a DE all the way.  He'll need to put on some weight, but he's not a linebacker.  We have a lot of athletic guys to play LB, and he's a much better fit on the line.  Also, one of Wilkins or Rock will be a DE, maybe both if we get Zettel.  Picking up Zettel or Barnes would give us 3 solid DE's in 2 classes, not including Wilkins or Rock.  We need the depth on the interior more, and those guys are big DEs.

In a smaller class with a lot of needs, no kicker please. I know our kicking sucks, have all of them work on it over the off season.

Not bad though, it's clear and concise.  I dig it.

I think Beyer is a DE in the way that Craig Roh was a DE last year.  He could play OLB in some situations and drop into coverage, but he's better at rushing the passer.  Beyer's definitely not a linebacker like Roh was early in 2010.
