Please avoid NSFW or home pics in posts

Submitted by StephenRKass on

A simple request, to allow my continued readership at mgoblog. Please don't post large NSFW pics at any time. My wife was not happy this morning as she walked in behind me with a pic posted in the "pimp hand" post. I am on a short leash, so to speak. I also have 9 year old twins, boy and a girl, and they don't need to see this stuff. It's inappropriate, and not funny. And my office would be just as bad or worse (to see this kind of post.)  I'm not complaining on my own behalf, but because of my family. I'm not suggesting censorship, but much more of this and I'll just be dropping out of visiting mgoblog in the future. I suppose, if some of you want me to leave the blog for good, you can keep at it. Whatever. But those of you in high school and college and your 20's and 30's who are single guys with your tongues hanging out, remember that some of us have families.

I think the mods used to get after this stuff, but there are now too many posts.

Kthxbye.

[PaulVB] I thought it was fairly common knowledge that mgoblog is better than a bunch of guys posting cheesecake pictures and talking about how women should be in the kitchen because all they're good for is making sandwiches. If you're thinking "Maybe I should say this is NSFW," maybe it's not something you should be posting on a Michigan sports blog [/PaulVB]

Be more creative as to why you are commenting on a college sports blog.  If she doesn't understand, then say this "me time", and doesn't reflect on the family.

I looked at this thread when it only had five responses but didn't have the wit to get a quick one in before going to dinner. Now shits all blowed up and I missed out on an all time thread. Oh well, BOOBS.

BE ADVISED:

This thread is hilarious.  It is also inappropriate on a bunch of different levels. Do not read near bosses, children, or wives who lack a certain, shall we say, sense of humor.

If everyone understands this basic fact, then maybe, MAYBE the Mods will allow us to keep this gem, so that some day when the world is beating you down, you may look back upon it and smile.

I second Braylon.. Don't come on here whining... I love to see the humor and awesome pictures with the captions... The cat in the snow saying too much cocaine is my favorite at the moment. I don't want that to end because someone is afraid of repurcussions from the wife or boss. If thats the case, then you shouldn't be on this site at work or home... Get a personal computer... Thanks...

I agree with the OP.  I read this blog at school in the library a lot and sometimes it's really embarrassing, and the OMG BOOOBZ pics are almost always completely unnecessary.

You honestly want to tell a group of people on the internet to be polite? Good luck with that bro. You probably just made it 10 times worse.

Sounds like it would be easier to just get your balls back from your wife

I totally agree but, have you seen and heard some of the stuff out there these days? Mgoblog cannot possibly be the worst as far as questionable content. Do your kids watch TV or listen to the radio? It's everywhere. My advice is to focus on being a parent that points out inappropriate behavior as an example of how not to act, speak etc... Otherwise you will be sending these types of letters to the whole world. Just my two cents.

And yes I'm also a parent.

Is this in regards to the pic of the back of a girl in a bikini?  Ok, maybe we should mark posts with NSFVWMTIWOYS

Not Safe For Viewing While Mother Teresa Is Watching Over Your Shoulder

I kid, but the reality of the situation is that we all see much worse than that during the commercials of childrens shows on a daily basis.  That being said, I have and will keep the discussion to Michigan, unless it's really really funny.

have fun on the scout or rivals site.

your chick sounds a little uptight.

Also, you should request removal of the headline "Utah's size concerns U-M - that's what she said" (under the mgo.licio.us category). It might burn your kids' eyes out.

I think most of us agree with keeping the NFSW stuff out of posts.  But I also think we have a different viewpoint about what qualifies as NSFW.

My take?  If it can be shown on broadcast TV before 11:00, it's probably kosher.

Or, as an alternative option,

I kid because I care.
