Basketball Practice Facility Progress?

Submitted by StephenRKass on

So, I searched mgoblog, umhoops, and mgoblue looking for progress on the new basketball practice facility. Nada. I remember the pics when they broke ground in May, and I think there was at least one other post with the progress on excavation. I'm curious where things are at now, and since I haven't been in AA this Fall I don't have a clue.

Is the skeleton of the building up yet? Do they have it enclosed, so they can work on it through the winter? I would imagine that if that's the case, they could really move quickly, and get it all done well before Fall 2011. Any pics or info or links would be appreciated. It has to be so exciting for Beilein and the team and incoming recruits for this to be going up.

I would assume that they won't begin any renovations on Crisler until April, when the season is over.

before every home game as i waited with the rest of the suite workers, and as said above its a giant hole in the ground... they do have some of the foundations poured but other than that there wasn't much else done... but i do know this for sure, there is a skunk that lives in the hole, we watched it walk across state st one morning and right into the hole...

I have to agree with MGoShoe and say that while there isnt yet any structural steel climbing up, it is much more than a giant hole. The foundation walls going up along the border of Crisler needed to go up first. Once those are done, I really don't think the rest of the exterior walls will take long considering the majority of the overall footprint is a giant court. Pouring all that concrete is going to be fun in the winter though.
