Kevin Sousa to Wake Forest?

Submitted by goblue1327 on

Scout now listing Sousa as a Wake Forest commit. Best of luck to him if true.

They've gotta go after another QB.  Three quarterbacks on the roster - at least one of whom might transfer, depending on the coaching situation - is not enough.  I don't know if they'll still try to get Marquise Williams or what, but they wanted Sousa for a reason.

for awhile a couple months ago, if I have my time frame right; actually, if I remember correctly Kevin was told that Williams was they guy they wanted more. I like Sousa, he's raw but he's got potential. Hate to lose him, good luck to him.

I know Jones is more of a pro-style QB but I think he could make a good impact in our offense. To me, he has the potential to be what Coach envisioned Steve Threet to be, a guy who throws a good ball, has good field awareness, and is enough of a running threat to keep the defense honest. Perhaps I'm too much of a 'glass half-full' kind of guy, but Cardale appears to have some real good instincts as a QB, and I think he would be a good asset for the squad.

It's not like Threet was the ideal guy for this offense.  Hell, Nick Sheridan started over him until Sheridan turned out to be inaccurate and turnover-prone.  It's no coincidence that Rodriguez's quarterbacks have historically been guys like Rasheed Marshall, Woody Dantzler, Pat White, Denard Robinson, etc.  Pocket-style quarterbacks have only been used as a last resort for Rodriguez.

I just don't think it's a good fit at all.  The fact that you're comparing him to Steve Threet should tell fans everything they need to know about how well Jones might fit.

this is a ridiculously huge misstep by brandon and will cost commits and any momentum there was in recruiting. just a joke all around and michigan is exactly 1 step away from being notre dame, think about that one, its true. i personally will not support harbaugh any more than the rodriguez haters support him now or even when he was hired. you simply DO NOT trash your alma mater on a national stage. thats like betting in baseball.you can all make excuses and pretend like its alright, forgive and forget, but it shows a complete lack of integrity and gary moeller was fired for the same thing a hippy lax california school took no action over. this situation is unacceptable on every level.

Meh, whatever. Nothing is official until signing day but can't blame the kid as our depth chart is pretty stacked at QB. We need a guy willing  to ride the pine for awhile and if that is not in his plans he will be better off at Wake Forrest.

Yeah Sousa definitely had potential down the road which makes it strange that he really waned to get that early playing time. You would think that having a couple of years to develop would help him maximize that potential instead of just being thrown into the fire. I mean game-time experience is quite beneficial, but as far as mechanics go a redshirt year and a year or two backing up our three-headed monster would make him ready to step in when his time came like the Michigan QB's of the past.

Back to the drawing board.  For the past few months we've seen some hesitation from Sousa regarding having to wait 2-3 years before even seeing the field, and if the kid wants a chance at early playing time, then Michigan isn't the best place for him.

Good luck to Kevin at Wake, unless he plays against Michigan, in which case I hope we destroy him.  :)

how much Devin Gardner's we-wish-we-hadn't-played-him medical redshirt played into Sousa's decision (if Sousa has indeed decommitted).
