....in Ann Arbor, they will tell you they are the smartest! Didn't need HuffPo to tell me that!

Boulder is very interesting, is known for being a party town with a lot of drugs going around.
December 4th, 2010 at 2:28 PM ^
Boulder is also the aerospace/defense industry capital of the United States.
December 4th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
Did not know that, even living about 45 minutes away from there for about 7 years.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:23 PM ^
Not sure about that claim. Ball aerospace and lockheed are all that's around here, and it's not even in Boulder.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
Northrup-Grumman is around there too. I have a friend who just defended his thesis in optical physics and take a position in R&D.

And most of the companies listed above also have California, Florida, Georgia, and/or Maryland locations, but I didn't think any were headquartered in Boulder.

Laff.

is also very strong in Bio Tech and has been coined "silicon alley" as it has the second highest concentration of tech behind Silicon Valley.
EDIT: silicon alley refers to the stretch of HWY 36 between Boulder/Denver.

Doesn't this just invite a Zombie attack. Better not to publicize this.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:25 PM ^
Best reply I've seen on here in months.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:42 PM ^
We've already had our zombie attacks.... what do you think Rosenberg, Snyder, and Sharp are?
December 4th, 2010 at 3:46 PM ^
i saw your subject line and assumed you were gonna say the dantonio and co
December 4th, 2010 at 2:31 PM ^
It's definitely RichRod's fault that we aren't the first!
////s
December 5th, 2010 at 9:50 AM ^
Nope. It is my fault. I will try to move back as soon as possible. We'll get back to number one.
December 4th, 2010 at 2:47 PM ^
I was surprised to see Boulder at number one. I guess I didn't realize how much they were involved in higher tech industry.
December 4th, 2010 at 2:57 PM ^
Well it was the actual home for Mork and Mindy, maybe that propelled their programs!
December 4th, 2010 at 2:51 PM ^
I was going to guess Berkley or Palo Alto.
December 4th, 2010 at 3:04 PM ^
boost us to that #1 spot
December 5th, 2010 at 8:45 PM ^
Where's Johnathan Winter's as their baby that starts old and grows younger????
December 4th, 2010 at 3:25 PM ^
Should have used a photo of Mr. Spots or Blimpie's.

I guess it's a good thing a rational fan base is not a criteria. Every time I long in these days I feel the same way I feel when my wife tunes into 90210 or another one of her shows. A sense of dread combined with incredulity but, kind of like when I drive by an accident, I can't help but be fascinated by the chaos. Maybe it’s contagious because now I’m mixing metaphors. I better not spend to much time here.

...I thought I had a job in Ft. Collins on lockdown. Then the firm I was planning on joining went, "LOL hiring freeze!!!"
Nice area though, great town, friendly people. Housing is still in an insane bubble though, and it would be nice if Rocky Mtn. skiing was closer.
December 4th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
Now there's a credible source.....
December 4th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
They have Bridgeport, CT on that list. If anyone has ever been there, you know that you are more likely to get stabbed in the neck than get a college education there. That is my go-to backyard ghetto if I am ever in need of some crack or gunshot wounds.
December 4th, 2010 at 5:33 PM ^
I love both those cities. That's great to hear!
December 4th, 2010 at 5:56 PM ^
Ann Arbor, where the person serving up your latte probably has a PhD!
My former housemate went to med school and did his residency here. When he moved to Milwaukee he said it was awesome to be in a place where women were actually impressed you were a doctor.
December 4th, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
Too bad so few Ann Arborites post here.

Boulder? Those guys are dumb as rocks...
December 5th, 2010 at 1:24 PM ^
I'm surprised Detroit was as high as it is. The area around Wayne St. probably helps, but I thought the cities massive education problems would crater it in the statistics.
December 5th, 2010 at 1:32 PM ^
I was in Boulder on business when the voting took place.
