which is worse: the "RR must go" crowd or World Cup Soccer on MGoBlog

Submitted by Blue Blue Blue on

so the "RR must go" crowd has all the credibility of the Tea Party.   tired, negative, the glass is always half empty.

it has gotten as bad as the halcyon days ot World Cup Soccer, when suddenly Albania vs Botwswana was front page news here.

Please forgive me, but I'm relatively new here.  It’s the year-end holiday season. . . . Chanukah, Islamic New Year, Festivus, Christmas. . . . Shouldn’t we be getting down to discussions about the proper grammatical uses for "worse" and "worst"? And whether "worser" is really a word? Or whether it’s OK to start a sentence with a preposition? For that matter, has anyone ever seen UMich87 and The Most Interesting Man in the World together?

And Rodney King still asks, " (C)an we all get along? Can we get along? Can we stop making it, making it horrible for the older people and the kids?..."

I enjoy reading about that stuff on MGoBlog.

And having the USMNT win the World Cup is on my list of things that need to happen before I die. Along with replacing dollar bills with coins, I-94 six lanes from Detroit to Chicago (will make my game-day commute much easier), and winning 10 in a row against OSU.

I also want the Lions to win a super bowl, but my list has to be somewhat realistic.

US might win Cup bid today

However if you go to Google and search Qatar you will find a bombardment of angry tweets from people who say that Qatar has already won the bid for the 2022 cup. The official announcement is not due for another 12 minutes but I guess USA isn't going to win the bid :(

Again, this is all speculation, I'd love for the USA to host the cup but it may not be likely

This post is pure unfiltered idiocy. First, if you want to make political comments, go somewhere else. Based on your Tea Party bashing, I probably agree with your politics. Don't care. I go somewhere else to talk about that stuff. The color scheme here is Maize and Blue whether we are read meat conservatives or pinko liberals. Second, I am not a big soccer fan. I coached my daughters when they were little. I learned to admire the game when I saw a couple of games during the Atlanta Olympics. Personally, I find it much like hockey in the sense that for me it is much better live and does not lend itself particularly well to television. However, the quality of the insights on this blog really helped me get excited about the World Cup to the point that I listened to an entire game of the USMNT in the World Cup on the freaking radio. And by the way, if you don't like soccer, don't read the soccer threads. Sorry for the rant, but this was just stupid.
