Best Buckeye Insult of MGoBlog Ever.

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

Luke, aka @worstfan, over at Eleven Warriors does his best summary of mgoblog:

"As long as you hate, there will be people to hate" MGoBlog is a superb site we often pay lip service to what with their being the model for most other individual team blogs to aspire towards. Seeing as this is the one week where their and our content respectively may have overlap, I figure why not jump over and check and see what wisdom they have to impart on us Buckeyes:

Yikes. It's just like USA Today.

We're NERDS! But in all fun... AND ALL HATE... 11W is a good site. Luke's a good guy.

HIS SCHOOL FUCKING SUCKS.

I don't get any insult whatsoever from that.  In other words, he's pointing out that we back up what we say with visible evidence whereas they just spout off whatever they want and hope somebody listens, which isn't very likely.  I have no problem being a nerd, as long as it doesn't apply to sitting at home on the weekends playing dungeons and dragons with absoutely no social life.

My wife and I are nerds, and we like to stay home and play dungeons on the weekends. You should try it some time, its fun, so don't knock it if you havn't tried it.  I don't know what that dragons thing is ..... sounds like it could be fun too.

There does seem to be an over-emphasis on charts/tables here at mgoblog.  I hope I'm not the only person who gets annoyed when I see tables that are poorly formatted and serve to complicate the presentation of otherwise great discussion (example?).  Graphics are a great way to break down the points in a meaningful and insightful manner -- on the other hand, assembling lots of rows of stuff with no particular focus is largely detrimental.

In the upper right hand corner, their clothing / t-shirt link, they have a pic of Rita Rodriguez. I was surprised they would do that. Also, I always thought that RitaRod was younger than she seems to be in the photos linked on the Internet.

But seriously, I always thought family members were kinda off limits. I've never seen anything on Carr's wife, or Bo's, or Tressel's, for that matter. Maybe when you're a former cheerleader (i.e., Rita, Lane Kiffin's wife, or Leigh Anne Touhy.

Hey all, I'm a huge Michigan fan and have come across a place to get 2 tickets to the ohio state game for far under face value. There are 2 tickets in Section 10C row 33. Go to iticketbid.com to at least check it out. Sale ends around 6! You might be able to get them for free if you use the promo code "rivalryweek" it will give you 5 free bids. Go wolverines! It sells in  2 hours tonight, just so you all know.

I find that to be more of a compliment than a dis.

If the very best dig they can come up with is to make light of members of this blog supporting their entries with data and analytical evidence in chart form, it's hard to feel slighted.  Yeah "nerd" and everything, but is making fun of a blog's members for being too smart (smarter than your blog's users) a knock on that blog or your own?
