Regents Approve Two Yr Contract Extension for MSC
Read all about it at the University Record.
Mary Sue Coleman will serve as president of U-M for an additional two years beyond her current appointment, extending her contract through July 2014. The Board of Regents approved the extension at its meeting today.
Coleman The two-year extension is effective July 31, 2012, when her second five-year contract was set to expire. Coleman was appointed to her first five-year term in 2002.
“I am excited and honored to continue serving the University of Michigan. As I have said many times, I have the best job in the world,” Coleman said. “I deeply appreciate the board’s confidence in extending the opportunity to lead this remarkable university. Together, we have made tremendous progress as an institution these past several years. And we have done so in particularly challenging economic times.
“I am proud of the hard work, innovation and dedication of so many members of our community who believe in the university and the essential contributions we make in today’s world,” she added. “I want to continue that momentum.”
Congrats to MSC and well done to the Regents. She's an outstanding leader for the University of Michigan and the state of Michigan as a whole.

feel the burn, Iowa.

Does this mean Iowa fans are now going to give me sh*t when I wear UM gear, telling me they "hate UM" and that UM is "their biggest rival"?

of the status quo. I am so tired of listening to these people. They need a rival with corn fields. I think the Maize cornfuses them.

She got an extension mid-year. Common DB....now it's RR's turn!

Can't you see it's already dead!

common....that was clearly an attempt at humor. Perhaps a failed attempt but I sure wouldn't continue my tilting at windmills on this thread.

Sorry, I tend not to understand humor unless it's presented to me in animated GIF form.

You of all people i figured would laugh given my Don Quixote-like attempts to calm down the mob on Newton and lobby DB for an extension.
Next time I'll remember to bring animation. I liked yours BTW......

I'm not going to lie, I felt a certain comradery after that Newton thread. And I do appreciate the Quixote refernces almost as much as GIFs. Cheers.

Dear MSC,
Stop admitting increasingly larger class sizes. Acceptance rate is now over 50%.
Thank you.

Dear MSC,
Stop raising tuition faster then the rate of inflation.
Stop driving away our most talented scientists.
Stop emphasizing money over quality at the med center.

Cripes, do you not read the Daily? She took her minions to task for that earlier this year. On the front page of the paper. So the big class is not her doing.

When I saw MSC, I was seriously thinking Michigan Snowboard Club, and I was really confused.

She seems like a strong president and a benevolent boss toward Brandon.
