I thought watching was illegal too. It's not like it'd be practical for them to try and track down everyone watching and prosecute, but, I thought it was technically illegal.

I am almost positive that it is illegal to dl any copyrighted material ie. movies, cds, video games.

I've worked in IT for years and received many DMCA complaints and it only catches people for uploading. downloading anything is completely legal as long as you don't seed (I.e bit torrent) while you are downloading.

Seriously. The US legal code is like tens of thousands of pages. Technically, everyone is a criminal somehow. Traffic laws, ticky-tack things, etc. There are laws that it's illegal to buy certain kinds of fish that are sold in grocery stores. (Can't remember what kind, but I read this recently.)
As Ayn Rand said in Atlas Shrugged, governments exist to make criminals out of all their citizens via over-legislating. It's part of how they consolidate power.

it would be different if you were actually downloading it, but your not. The only way I see it being illegal is if you are streaming ppv fights like UFC next saturday. If it was illegal they probably would've been shut down already.
