Another reason to love Denard

Submitted by GoblueNate on

Not that we need another reason to root for him, but I am reliving the Ill game by watching WolverineHistorian's compilation of the game.  In the 2nd quarter (Part 1) on a handoff to V. Smith (7:57 video/10:21 2nd Q), Denard tries to cut block the backside LB flowing down the line.  Just trying to give them one less defender to worry about.  I think his willingness to help shows how much he and the team wants to win, and what they are willing to do.  Also, just another reason we all love rooting for this team.

I agree......if by introvert you mean a truely humble being with two objectives: To please everyone associated with Michigan and to win for Michigan.

I don't think I have ever seen someone so geniuinely concerned about pleasing everyone else. I thought that when I saw his reaction last year when he threw the pick to end the game against Iowa. He simply felt just terrible for what he thought he did for the team. Everything he does is done with no bearing on how it affects him, only how it affects Michigan. In this day and age, it is simply astonishing to me that he is the way he is. You just don't see it. Tim Tebow was close but I don't think there was 100% selflessness there.

Introvert is not necessarily a bad thing. Introverts can still make great leaders, and there is nothing really negative which should readily be associated with the term. While I agree with the assessment that Denard would probably score an I under Jungian typology, I also love his personality and wouldn't change a thing.

Great point about more CEO's being introverts.    That said, the coaches often have Denard entertain recruits.    Probably more than any other player.   So whether he is an "I" or an "E" there can be little doubt that he is a charismatic guy with great leadership skills.

I am thoroughly impressed with every players interview I have watched this year. I am very proud that these young men all put the team first especially in today's era with all of the self promoting guys do. RR deserves a lot of credit both for finding these type of quality kids and developing a team first attitude. The turn around I have seen in Tate this year is testament to this.

My wife says it is getting weird.  She won't even wear the Denard mask I made anymore.  the dog doesn't seem to mind though.  With her speed (the dog), it feels more natural for her to wear the mask anyway, so I guess it worked out.  That bitch can fly!!!!!

We had to do the Myer & Briggs test for work and found that I was an Introvert. It's actually a great test to show how to manage a work force, in my case the test pretty much was dead on.

Denard is pure class.  Refreshing to see in the "ESPN-look-at-me" world we live in.  He definately is puting the team ahead of himself.  That is why he should be entertaining the recruits when the come to visit.

do one big thing for himself and not the team.  i would rather have him get out of harms way (for his bodies sake) then make a few extra yards for the team!  i actually believe the more DRob takes less punishment the more holes will open up for him!  i am seeing more penalties on the opposing D at first and then coaches will be more reluctant to have his players fly at DRob, thus players will slow down and, with the dilithium speed DRob possesses will open up more lanes both passing and running!  could be an out there idea, but if it is concievable it is attainable.  Go Blue beat purdue!
