OT: Andrew Shirvell shown the door
That guy at the Atty General's office who was waging a crusade against the undergrad student goverment president because he was gay was just shown the door at work.

INSANE THAT IT TOOK THIS LONG.
/not political
November 8th, 2010 at 4:28 PM ^
My thoughts exactly.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:46 PM ^
You reeeeally want to cross your T's and dot your I's.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:52 PM ^
Don't you mean lower case J's?
November 8th, 2010 at 4:59 PM ^
the "J" in "Jack-hole" is capitalized.
November 8th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
I'm really hoping this is a reference to "Earnest Goes to Jail" because that would make my evening.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:41 PM ^
Shrivell himself is a moron; nothing to worry about there, lawyer or not. But, I could almost see some organization taking his case on First Amendment grounds and trying to make something out of it.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:00 PM ^
about time...I knew he had been suspended
November 8th, 2010 at 4:02 PM ^
he can see Narnia from his back porch.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:31 PM ^
it heartens me that there are enough cool people around here to plusbang the bejesus out of it.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
the Colbert Bump.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
But wasn't the story on the Daily Show? Wasn't Shirvell interviewed by Jason Jones?
November 8th, 2010 at 5:01 PM ^
The first rule of going on the Daily Show/Colbert Report: if you don't see the ridiculousness/humor/irony of the segment, you should probably cancel. It will not end well for you.
November 8th, 2010 at 6:22 PM ^
I am continually astounded that these people still go on there. What are they thinking?
November 8th, 2010 at 6:50 PM ^
Well no wonder he hasn't seen the field much. He's got a lot on his plate.
November 8th, 2010 at 6:35 PM ^
Love how he doesn't understand the state's definition for cyberbullying and that the state's definition must have been defined "out of context".
November 8th, 2010 at 6:19 PM ^
crap.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
What an absolute disgrace of a person. I wanted to punch him in the face after seeing all his tv appearances.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:08 PM ^
Does it count as political to say that I expect a contract offer from Fox news?
November 8th, 2010 at 4:20 PM ^
Fox claims to be a "un-biased" source of news.
They would just happen to really like Shirwell's "Family Values".
November 8th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
I think this also qualifies as political...
November 8th, 2010 at 4:31 PM ^
I don't think so. There's a difference between being a supporter of whatever views you have and being a dick. This guy was a huge dick; and now people hate him for it.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:35 PM ^
I was addressing the comment. Suggesting that Fox News and its viewers share Shirvell's beliefs and approve of his conduct is a political attack.
November 8th, 2010 at 6:17 PM ^
Not at all. Neither does the fact that the liberals (Obama) are bankrupting the country! Way to go liberals! Keep up the good work!
November 8th, 2010 at 4:10 PM ^
Finally. That guy was an asshole.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
Thank you, I stand corrected
November 8th, 2010 at 4:11 PM ^
Twice in one day.
(you keep this up, they may have to name a building after you...)
November 8th, 2010 at 4:13 PM ^
for hate-mongers here. I pity the foo.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:17 PM ^
the ban from campus has been lifted. If I see him here, he will NOT get a nice welcome.
He can run and tell THAT. HOMEBOY.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:23 PM ^
Someone should ask Shrivell how it feels to be hated by his entire alumni base.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:32 PM ^
You have to wonder how someone that stupid got admitted...
November 8th, 2010 at 4:40 PM ^
Snyder, Rosenberg and Sharp.
They were all apparently highly rated according to Rivals and Scou, only ESPN was sceptical of their pad-level.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:08 PM ^
You know he was probably 'that guy' in class that always had his hand up objecting to a professor's comments or material and wasting class time debating and trying to further his douchebag platform.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:33 PM ^
As bad as his personal hate campaign was, what probably did him in at the end was his repeated television appearances. This made it virtually impossible that the MI attorney's office would not take action, as it embarrassed the office and undermined public trust beyond what the initial blog postings did. He should have known it was not feasible for the public to separate his personal views from that of a MI official, once he gets on national television and starts to explain his views.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:52 PM ^
Don't care what your views are, what he did was way out of line.
November 8th, 2010 at 4:57 PM ^
Andrew Shirvell is the ONLY PERSON who is protecting us from the Gay Nazi Movement. And why is that, do you think?
/Searches Wikipedia for "Gay Nazi Movement"
/Googles "Gay Nazi Movement"
Oh. Never mind.
November 8th, 2010 at 7:27 PM ^
Well obviously you didn't find anything, because it's Chris' "Radical Homosexual Agenda" that is really threatening the student body! AHHH WATCH OUT THEY'VE ALREADY GOT ME ABOUT HALFWAY, SAVE YOURSELVES!

"I traveled two hours to find a room filled with the same administrators and human resources people, but their minds had been made up," Thomas said. "I can only imagine the political machinations that happened between last week and now, but I feel my client has been wronged." I wonder if by political machinations he means the "UM Alumni Network" pimp hand (not to be confused with DB's pimp hand). I don't care who you are or what you're political leanings are, when you're dedicating your time to slinging mud at a kid going to school here I want to see our alumni network own your ass.
Edit: As a side comment Shrivell also had a record of going after Michigan Review and Michigan Daily editors during his time at Michigan and Ave Maria Law. The guy basically hates everyone.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:05 PM ^
ahhhhhhhhh seee yeah!
I wish I could have been there when security escorted him out with his one box of belongings and do the hockey cheer...
chump dick wuss douchebag asshole prick cheater bitch whore slut c*cksucker! ski poler!
November 8th, 2010 at 5:13 PM ^
the student body President has the support of the Football Team.
Mike Cox said in a statement issued by his office today. "Ultimately, Mr. Shirvell's conduct has brought his termination from state service.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:24 PM ^
... I assume this is one of those /s posts right? If so, nice.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:26 PM ^
That's why Cox hasn't been playing. Running for governor takes alot outta ya.
November 8th, 2010 at 6:14 PM ^
He is too predictable; he runs to the right almost every time.
/Hey-oh.
November 8th, 2010 at 5:19 PM ^
...riddance. Shirvell is an absolute disgrace. No sugarcoat.
