this is why everyone thinks that michigan fans are stupid - because you are.  we won by 2 pts.  so now, all of the sudden, you're all over rich rods nuts again.  forcier for heisman.  may the forcier be with you.  etc...etc...etc.  if one random bounce of the ball works out differently, and we lose by two points, you'd all be insane with rage calling for rich rods head and proclaiming harbaugh as the messiah against arizona tonight.

shut up.

I'm totally jazzed that we won, and not to be a downer but this made the Penn St. game look like an even bigger debacle. I still think we need a defensive staff overhaul. Keep Rodriguez though, 67 points? OMG

You have to give the kid a chance to perform.  Short term, yeah it hurt.  Long term, it's good for team morale to know the coach is going to trust you to do it right and that screw-ups can be forgiven.

Sucks that he still missed it, but it's part of managing a team.

No.

People will look at the game and stats and numbers and whatever and say this defense played terribly.

Stats do not tell the entire story of a game. They take the information that's present and that's it: all context is removed. What's lost is how the defense made absolutely HUGE plays when they NEEDED to do so - previously, these plays were missed.

The defense did a good job today, in relation to their previous efforts.

off the field with their heads held high. Who cares what the numbers say, they got the job done! Also, Vinopal says 'eat it' to everybody that complained when Michigan signed him.

Feel better about defensive recruiting, about the same about defensive coaching.

OFFENSE WOOOOOOOOO

I'm more inclined to give a year without GERG than I was last week, that's for sure.

Anybody else scream for the pass in the flat for easy first downs today?  I hope the QBs see that on film this week and take it next week as opposed to forcing the ball down downfield.

so I wonder if they've been told to always go down field instead.  Doesn't seem reasonable but I can't figure out why else BOTH our guys would repeatedly pass up the easy 5 yard throws to squeeze the ball between 2+ defenders.

And Griese and the other guy were practically yelling at Tate to take the 5 yarder.  By the end of the game they were both apoplectic every time he passed up the short toss for a riskier throw.

Have you ever been in a situation where you are relatively inexperienced, 100,000 people are screaming at you, the pressure is enormous, and you are a teenager? You just might overlook (no pun intended) a few things.

Maybe if the Illini QB weren't a RS Freshman, he would have audibled at the line on the final play of the game. We as fans ask way too much of these student athletes.
