Gameday Open Thread/Predict the Score

Didn't think it was worth cluttering the board with 2 posts, but I still haven't seen The Knowledge prediction thread or diary, so I thought to combine the 2. We only have a couple hours till kickoff anyway. And I think Brian is pretty close, but to be a little different, Illinois 37 Michigan 24.

With the bad defense getting worse this week with injuries, I can't see us pulling out a win (barring a miracle and multiple Illinois turnovers).  Add to that the fact that Illinois has no known rivals in the conference, but arbitrarily chooses us as their rival, always makes Illinois a tough game.  With all that Michigan football has been through this year and how hard they have worked, they definitely deserve to make a bowl, but it will have to wait until next week:

Illinois: 41

Michigan: 28

Last week, I felt as certain about a win as I have in a long time and we lost.   This week, I'm feeling that it's not going to go our way so I'm going to say

Maize and Blue:  38

Orange and Blue:  24

Because it feels kinda muted on here this morning. Just over an hour to kickoff, and I'm not seeing a lot of action on the board. People more afraid than excited?

Goals to Victory:

-Win coin toss

- Score on 1st possession

- Score on 2nd possession

-Score on 3rd possession

- Repeat.

The offense putting up big points keeps the crowd behind the defense.  Right now those seemingly 184923498234 freshman starting on defense need confidence more than anything. Seems like our defensive performance is a slippery slope...maybe the big house crowd can provide some traction.

The best thing I ever learned in life was that things have to be worked for. A lot of people seem to think there'is some sort of magic in making a winning football team. There isn't, but there's plenty of work.

Is it just me, or does Corso seem like he's doing better with his recovery?  The guy seems more animated today, sentences flowing better and his vision seems to be tracking better (or something, I didn't get my Ph.D. in vision tracking).  Good for him, it's a long road sometimes with strokes.

Trust me I never want Michigan to lose. Last week was painful though. I was so sure of a win last week. I just dont see a win this week. I hope that I wrong and we roll the Illini though. The end of the investigation plus a win this week could turn the momentum completely in our favor, for a change. God that would be sweet.

Hit the field in the two minute offense from the get-go.  Defense sends 6+ across the line every play of the game so our dbs only have to cover for 3-4 secs.  All is good and right as it should be.  I need a warm place to travel to to go bowling...

I think the Illini are better offensively than people think. However, haven't seen enough out of their defense that makes me think they can stop the Nard dawg. Those two factors, to me, indicate a high scoring game. Whose defense is worse? Ours.

Illinois 35

Michigan 31
