Michigan in control early against SVSU...Nine of 10 players who have gotten playing time have scored. I know expectations are low, but I believe Beilein will have this team steadily improving throughout the year. Looking forward to watching metrics and little crossover progress as the season wears on.

First of all Captain Literal..yes, I was being COMPLETELY serious, no exaggeration or sarcasm at all. Second, GVSU was loaded and had barely lost to MSU the previous year. This SVSU team just lost by 40 to MSU. Needless to say, a loss to a team MSU beat by 40 would not bode well for our prospects.

Nice. I'll take it.

One thing I'll say. I think this year is going to be rough. But moving forward I'm pretty excited. 3 freshmen in the starting lineup, no seniors, only 2 juniors. With Brundidge and Burke coming, I think we'll be a really good team in a couple years.

3-21 from 3 pt land with less than 2 minutes to go.  Imagine what it's going to look like when a Big Ten team is playing defense.

Closer than I would have liked.  Not a great start.  3-21 from behind the arc w/ 58 seconds to go.  Nice to see 8 points and 14 boards from Morgan.  Smotrycz and Hardaway combined to go 2-13 from three.  Hopefully that will improve.

Poor shooting, but a few highlights include:

* Morgan hitting the boards - rebounding was non-existant last year. Also, Metrics filling the stat sheet in his first game in a Michigan uniform.

I think this team will shoot the ball well- good to get the exhibition in and out of the way

This is like deja vu.  We spent 20+ games expecting the three point shooting to improve; alas, it never did.  If it's similar this year you've got to wonder what's going on, that is a staple of Beilein's team.

Just caught the stats breakdown on mgoblue.  Looks like the shooters couldn't get into a rhythm, but Morgan nearly had a double-double and Morris got to the line a lot.  I like what Hardaway Jr brings to the table, but it looks like he struggled a bit today with his shot.  Still, a win is a win, and I'm excited that bball is back on the menu.

We get it - the team is going to be bad this year.  This will be like the 2008 football season, only for basketball.

Take your pick on who Manny and Peedi are from our 2007 football team: Henne, Hart, Long, Manningham, Arrington, etc.... It's going to be like that.
