An Epic RichRod Glare

Submitted by MGoShoe on

I've been waiting for this ever since I saw this tweet last night from Tom Leyden of WXYZ:

TomLeyden The glare Rich Rodriguez directed at Drew Sharp today when Drew asked Brandon if Rich might be fired was one for the ages. #Michigan

Leyden has now delivered the goods, and they're good.

TomLeyden The glare from #Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez to Drew Sharp when Drew asked if Rich might be fired. http://twitpic.com/346dlg

That glare is Lloyd Carr-esque. I wonder if that's what he means by Hard Edge? Nice suit/tie combo as well.

I don't live in Michigan so am not especially familiar with the freep gang, but I happened to see Drew Sharp's column from yesterday.  What is his problem with Michigan and Rodriguez?  It's like the guy is living in a different reality from everyone else following this.  It's almost comical.

to send the repo men over to Sharp's apartment to repossess his diploma.

Big, beefy, scary men with prison tats and crowbars.

I hope RR remembers that question and answers it with a few more wins. The best revenge to shut up the Freep.

Drew reminds me of this ex-wrestler I saw on tv that loves when he "steals" repossessed planes back for the bank (apparently there were a lot of repossessions during the recession).  The wrestler would find the secret hanger where pilots would hide their planes since they knew they hadn't been making their payments and he'd fly it out of there...the wrestler just loved when pilots would call and how angry they would be.

When you make someone angry like that you get a rush that you had power over them.  It's something competitive, middle-IQers use a lot b/c they can't win with intelligence.  Works out well when media thrives on emotion themselves...gets them more Internet hits when Sharp is controversial so his writing style is validated.

To beat him, we need to push him into wrestling.  He could be the "Pretender" with special move: "False bull charge self-pin".  He would be no match for our wrestler "Mathlete" with special move: "The Quadratic Equation".

RichRod better get a thicker skin, and fast. He shouldn't give a hoot about detractors like Sharp, he really shouldn't. When he does like this, its as if he knows something we do not. And by being so sensitive, apparently he isn't fully be cognizant of how truly storied our program is, and how truly different the means of acheiving it was, with his modus operandi the spread. To think that there wouldn't be MORE hard line detractors is quite ignorant.

Spare us your sanctimonious bullcrap, please.  There is a difference between asking tough questions and calling Jim Everett 'Chris Evert' to his face as a stupid grandstanding ploy to increase the audience, a la Jim Rome.  That was a question intended to be insulting to Coach Rodriguez, and for my part I thought he showed admirable restraint by not saying anything.  My response would have been 'I wonder how many newspapers in the country would even have you in for an interview if you weren't peddling your sewage at the Freep.'  But then again, I'm a Spartan fan and uncouth (redundant, I know), so take it for what it's worth.

This is the stuff that is proving that RichRod is maturing into a Michgan Man.

I'm waiting for the day RR says, "why would you ask a stupid question like that?"

According to the title, Drew Sharp asked Brandon that question in front of Rich Rod.  What kind of a D-bag would do such a thing? Rich Rod looks about 2 seconds away from laying a dose of some Emperor Palpatine force lightning on his @$$.

I think it'd be funny if Brandon just denied press credentials to the FreeP, saying, "You're not going to cover us positively anyway, so you might as well not cover us."

That'd be hilarious.
