I clicked on this link expecting to hear about how the football team will be running out of the tunnel with strips of bacon that they would then whip at the banner with as they ran through. But I guess the commentary you provided is good too.

I wish I could have a grilled BLT for lunch today. Thick slices of bacon with juicy tomato and lettuce piled up on bread with some provolone cheese on top. Then have it buttered and grilled on a panini press. I need to find one of these ASAP.

'round these parts, the best deal in town is a JBC from Wendy's (junior BACON cheeseburger) for 99 cents. Might have to go grab one of six of those for lunch today after this thread.

True that. I actually play American football here at university. Season starts this weekend with the 'War of the Roses'. The rivalry is pretty similar to the Brown Jug as in we dominate every year.

But Oscar Meyer makes a delicious Turkey Bacon. Crisps up nicely in the microwave. Do steer clear of the Jennie-O version though.

I don't mind turkey bacon, but the problem I tend to have is that they are always too thin for my tastes. Do they have thick cut turkey bacon?

Has a thicker cut Turkey Bacon. Of course it is more expensive but it is Whole Foods which equals deelish.

But I presume it's there. I'm a little disturbed by the inclusion of "Ice cold water" in the signage; I didn't know that anybody had to pay for water. It just comes out of a hose.
But yeah, eating chocolate covered bacon on a stick, that came out of the back of a modified four-wheel drive pickup, does make you a true American. Anybody doubts you; just show them your AR-15.

In college my girlfriend took a class her senoir year that was taught by John Bacon. It was on the history of college athletics (I don't actually know what it was called). She loved it and the more she told me about it I wished I had taken in. They had frequent guests like Brandstatter and Deirdorf, and the best part: the required reading was Bo's lasting lessons. Who wouldn't love that class?

I had tried getting into that class every semester since freshman year. Even with the 104 credit head start on the registration process my last semester, I could never get it into my schedule. Damn economics program.

Yeah one of the perks to being an athlete is you can get pretty much any class you want through priority registration. It makes sense in season though, as you pretty much have to get classes at a certain time.

Yes and your tests get graded separate from the rest of us non athletic folk.
I would hang out during the office hours of my favorite Econ professor and the GSI's would grade the exams separate.
I also took an accounting exam with the soccer team and we got some extra minutes and boy did I need them.

One little factual error, the banner that was stolen by Syracuse fans the night before the '98 game was never recovered, though it was spotted being hung out of a parking structure in New York the day of the '99 game at the Carrier Dome.
