Frustrated? Upset? Angry? Watch Molk during press conference

Submitted by trueblueintexas on

I may actually be developing a man crush on David Molk.  Absolutely love when he is selected to talk to the media.  This will get you back on track as why to love Michigan Football.

Molk is the last person at the 35:30 mark.

Reporter: "David do you remember anything specifically from the Illinois game last year that fuels you a little more coming into this week?"

Molk: "I didn't play in it. I was hurt"

This is exactly the demeanor I would hope to say. He isn't depressed and he hasn't given up. He is pissed and he is frustrated and he will do everything he can to turn it around this year.

Out of all the videos, one qoute that I loved was Greg Banks talking about the bus trip and how they talked to the freshman and said something along the lines of, "Guys, this is your 7th game, you aren't freshman anymore." Maybe those young guys need the older guys to step up and make them realize that film study and the cerebral aspects are the most important for them. When they get in the game they have to know what they need to do and have an idea of what may be coming at them.

I am impressed, a very mature individual.  I can only imagine what I would have said at that age (20-21) to the media asking questions about me and my team.  I am sure it would have been combative and not close to intelligent.

I'd say hes a little pissed. "It can't just be some half assed work ethic, it needs to be f***in full out, every play, every down, every game. And we're gonna realize that shortly."

He said the F word in his pre season interview as well.. about hitting people or w/e i think it was..  Either way im glad we have players like this..  Now if they can instill this kind of an attitude into the freshman and fast.. then we will go bowling this year, who cares what bowl it is at this point..  Im more concerned with getting an extra month to practice

I think Dave Brandon should take this type of individual into consideration when making his decision. If he's not judging RR on wins and losses but character of players also...

I like that someone is telling the freshmen that they need to step up but I think it would be more appropriate coming from Mike Martin. You know because he's good. I could see a smart assed freshman hearing this from Banks and saying "buddy you're every bit the reason we suck on D as i am."

His Dudeness

I don't blame him. That kid busts his ass morning and night from lifting to film to actual school studies. To stand up there and have to answer some of the bullshit questions from the likes of Michael Rosenberg and not tell him to go fuck himself is an accomplishment. You can be damn sure I wouldn't answer a single question from some of those assholes.

Wow -- The guy is so impressive.   If they can just bottle his spirit and tie it into every player, this team would be undefeated. Let's hope he can light their fires with a win against Illinois.   And not a shootout but a solid play in all phases of the game.

Thanks for the posting and the video.   Defintiely gives me hope for the Illinois game.

I was also very happy to see RR reading the riot act to the defense the other night.   It was about time as far as I was concerned.   Sure the offense had a few plays they'd like back but they have so much pressure on them to score every time they touch the ball to overcome such a crappy defense.

I like how he backs up everyone, even RR.  He knows the coaches are bustin their ass and they just aren't performing as well as they should on the field

I could listen to Molk talk all day, you can just tell how bad he wants it and I have no doubt that he will fire everyone else up. He would kill himself to help the team get a win, it's not hard to follow a guy like that. That being said, I see why he's not up there every Monday if he's going to be dropping F bombs like it's nothing. I personally absolutely fucking love it, but I'm sure some people in that room were like "wha, did he just". Yes, yes Rosenburg he did and if you don't stop with the stupid ass questions he's going to break you, then eat you.

"It has to be fuckin' full out, every game, every play."

He does stumble for a split second after he drops the F-bomb, as if realizing that he just swore at a press conference.  It's cool--I can imagine RR just grabbing him afterwards and being like, "Did you really just swear during a press conference?  Good."

I like his bluntness and intensity.

But somewhere, I can hear Yoda saying "Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Something something dark side."

Dropping F bombs, calling out the media, shooting down even the idea that the offense should blame the defense for the losses, talking about the Team, the Team, the F*king Team - I will die a happy man knowing that my alma mater produced guys like Molk.

That is a man that is boiling on the inside. It seems like he knows he shouldn't say it, but at the same time knows it should be said. I think he made the right decision, and we can only hope he gives the defense the kick in the ass it needs.
