Frustrated? Upset? Angry? Watch Molk during press conference
I may actually be developing a man crush on David Molk. Absolutely love when he is selected to talk to the media. This will get you back on track as why to love Michigan Football.

Molk is the last person at the 35:30 mark.

Thanks for embedding the specific clip

last year this guy becomes my hero of this year. so much so that now i will use the below phrase as my signature going forward. go blue kick some illini ass!
November 1st, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
Reporter: "David do you remember anything specifically from the Illinois game last year that fuels you a little more coming into this week?"
Molk: "I didn't play in it. I was hurt"

Future head coach, after a long NFL career.

This is exactly the demeanor I would hope to say. He isn't depressed and he hasn't given up. He is pissed and he is frustrated and he will do everything he can to turn it around this year.
Out of all the videos, one qoute that I loved was Greg Banks talking about the bus trip and how they talked to the freshman and said something along the lines of, "Guys, this is your 7th game, you aren't freshman anymore." Maybe those young guys need the older guys to step up and make them realize that film study and the cerebral aspects are the most important for them. When they get in the game they have to know what they need to do and have an idea of what may be coming at them.

Glad he lets all the stupidity swirl past him.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:53 PM ^
I am impressed, a very mature individual. I can only imagine what I would have said at that age (20-21) to the media asking questions about me and my team. I am sure it would have been combative and not close to intelligent.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:53 PM ^
I'd say hes a little pissed. "It can't just be some half assed work ethic, it needs to be f***in full out, every play, every down, every game. And we're gonna realize that shortly."
November 1st, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
I have a feeling Dave drops a few f bombs no matter his mood. But yes he seemed to be in a nasty disposition.
November 1st, 2010 at 10:05 PM ^
He said the F word in his pre season interview as well.. about hitting people or w/e i think it was.. Either way im glad we have players like this.. Now if they can instill this kind of an attitude into the freshman and fast.. then we will go bowling this year, who cares what bowl it is at this point.. Im more concerned with getting an extra month to practice
November 1st, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
I wonder who is he calling out...
November 1st, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
After watching that clip do you really think Molk is a guy who would call a guy out on the team?He is talking about the team as a whole. Let's not get anymore rumors started.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:01 PM ^
I think Dave Brandon should take this type of individual into consideration when making his decision. If he's not judging RR on wins and losses but character of players also...
November 1st, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^
RR has indeed recruited quality kids to the program. But that should be an expectation at this school.
November 1st, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
I agree that Rodriguez recruits quality kids, but your example doesn't hold true. Molk was a Lloyd Carr recruit.
November 2nd, 2010 at 12:30 AM ^
RR went hard after Molk when he was coaching at WVU. RR is building a machine and Molk is the fucking metal chest.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
You mean Molk is up for the Defensive Coordinator job? I had no idea...
November 1st, 2010 at 9:02 PM ^
...I like it when he's angry
November 1st, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^
I like that someone is telling the freshmen that they need to step up but I think it would be more appropriate coming from Mike Martin. You know because he's good. I could see a smart assed freshman hearing this from Banks and saying "buddy you're every bit the reason we suck on D as i am."
November 1st, 2010 at 10:07 PM ^
Why isn't it appropriate coming from Molk? He is the best overall player on our team along with Martin? And possibly one of the best centers in the country..
November 2nd, 2010 at 12:38 AM ^
I could see a smart assed freshman hearing this from Banks and saying "buddy you're every bit the reason we suck on D as i am."
November 1st, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^
Awesome. This shows the team isn't giving up or getting disheartened.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:22 PM ^
I don't blame him. That kid busts his ass morning and night from lifting to film to actual school studies. To stand up there and have to answer some of the bullshit questions from the likes of Michael Rosenberg and not tell him to go fuck himself is an accomplishment. You can be damn sure I wouldn't answer a single question from some of those assholes.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:40 PM ^
sounds like, acts like.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:49 PM ^
Wow -- The guy is so impressive. If they can just bottle his spirit and tie it into every player, this team would be undefeated. Let's hope he can light their fires with a win against Illinois. And not a shootout but a solid play in all phases of the game.
Thanks for the posting and the video. Defintiely gives me hope for the Illinois game.
I was also very happy to see RR reading the riot act to the defense the other night. It was about time as far as I was concerned. Sure the offense had a few plays they'd like back but they have so much pressure on them to score every time they touch the ball to overcome such a crappy defense.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:49 PM ^
Can he play defense?
November 1st, 2010 at 10:02 PM ^
Total class act!
November 1st, 2010 at 10:08 PM ^
I like how he backs up everyone, even RR. He knows the coaches are bustin their ass and they just aren't performing as well as they should on the field
November 1st, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
Definitely one of my favorite players over the last few years.........the offense doesn't go when he's not in the game.
November 1st, 2010 at 10:25 PM ^
I just can't believe RR has tarnished the Michigan program by letting kids with this type of language play and go before the media.
November 1st, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
Marques Slocum agrees...
November 2nd, 2010 at 12:59 AM ^
who cares?
November 2nd, 2010 at 7:14 AM ^
I'm assuming this is sarcasm, but you didn't put "/sarcasm" at the end of your post so it's tough to tell
November 2nd, 2010 at 11:56 AM ^
*sarcasm* thanks lol.
November 1st, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
Hope he spoke at the team only meeting on Monday! (Assuming there was a team only meeting on Monday...).

to plus one you because i would love for rosenberg to get blasted by molk!
November 2nd, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
I find those press conferences absolutely excruciating to watch for that very reason. I love listening to the players, but cringe to hear what the press comes up with.
November 1st, 2010 at 11:02 PM ^
I love seeing this intensity from this team. I hope that this carriers over to Saturday and beyond.
November 1st, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
does he say f***ing fullout at .28 secs??
November 1st, 2010 at 11:31 PM ^
That's affirmative, Ghost Rider.
Also, LOVE the *sigh* at 35:24.
That's great stuff.
November 2nd, 2010 at 11:12 AM ^
"It has to be fuckin' full out, every game, every play."
He does stumble for a split second after he drops the F-bomb, as if realizing that he just swore at a press conference. It's cool--I can imagine RR just grabbing him afterwards and being like, "Did you really just swear during a press conference? Good."
November 1st, 2010 at 11:22 PM ^
I like his bluntness and intensity.
But somewhere, I can hear Yoda saying "Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Something something dark side."
November 2nd, 2010 at 2:21 AM ^
so easy for him to say all that crap
November 1st, 2010 at 11:48 PM ^
Dropping F bombs, calling out the media, shooting down even the idea that the offense should blame the defense for the losses, talking about the Team, the Team, the F*king Team - I will die a happy man knowing that my alma mater produced guys like Molk.
November 2nd, 2010 at 12:19 AM ^
That is a man that is boiling on the inside. It seems like he knows he shouldn't say it, but at the same time knows it should be said. I think he made the right decision, and we can only hope he gives the defense the kick in the ass it needs.
