A Joke post criticizing RR
Just saw the following blurb on MLive:
Posted: Nov 1, 2010 at 4:47 PM [Today]
With forecasters predicting winds of more than 50 miles per hour across southeastern Michigan last week, football coach Rich Rodriguez met with his team’s operation director and video coordinator.
“This is pretty heavy wind,” Rodriguez told the group Wednesday.
The Wolverines spent part of their practice that day inside because of the winds. When they went outside, the video coordinator went 10 to 12 feet off the ground in a hydraulic lift instead of filming the team’s practice from a higher perch.
Under similar conditions that day, a student videographer was killed in South Bend, Ind., when his lift toppled from a height of 40 to 50 feet while he filmed Notre Dame’s football practice.
At Michigan, Rodriguez said he makes the decision on whether conditions permit practice to be held outside or necessitate a move inside, and then he speaks with the video coordinator about safety.
“The video coordinator will talk about the conditions, and whether it’s safe to go up or not, and he communicates that with me,” he said.

Given the overeaction of many on this site (myself included) to just about anything that RR says or does, I thought that I would poke fun at us and create the following mock post:
Man, can you believe this. Now I know why RR can't get it done in the B10. Guy just isn't that into winning. I mean he cares more about the life of some stupid non-athlete video guy than he does about winning games. You don't see Brian Kelly doing things like this.
And, can you believe that he takes time out to talk to the video coordinator about conditions. I mean really. He has no time to coach the defense, but he does this?
This also shows how unfit he is to coach in the B10. Dude, it is windy in the midwest. We get tornados. Maybe in WVU or the Big East he didn't have to deal with this type of weather, but in the Big 10 we get wind. That's why his spread option offense doesn't work against real teams, by the way. He doesn't video practices on windy days.
I bet Harbaugh would have climbed up on that hydraulic lift himself and videod practice while simultaneously coaching the defense in tackling and explaining to his kickers that it is a good idea to not kick out of bounds and to try to kick it between the uprights instead of wide right.

This is extremely disrespectful to the ND kids memory. You should seriously be ashamed. Please remove the OP.
November 1st, 2010 at 6:57 PM ^
Quite the opposite. I am commending RR on putting the safety of his video crew ahead of something as trivial (in the scheme of things) as taping practice. Because RR did so, our video team was not subjected to dangerous conditions.
This is NOT intended to in any way comment on the poor guy at ND. If this offended you, then I seriously think that you are looking for a reason to be offended. Regardless, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

"some stupid non-athlete video guy"
That might have something to do with it. Devaluing the kid and everything. Poor taste.

I bet you fart in church. Just a guess.

I concur and what's worse is that it's not even funny.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:02 PM ^
Agreed. Poor Taste. Please remove.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
i don't really like this... I applaud RR for not having his kid go up there, but it didn't need to be done this way...

This needs to be deleted.

Not neggin' you because you are obviously a commited MGOUSER. However, sometimes you just have to listen to your fellow readers.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:04 PM ^
Bad enough you think it is a good idea to make a joke about a dead kid on the day he is buried. But this isn't even funny.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:08 PM ^
Definitely in bad taste. You should have made the first info known and left it at that.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:07 PM ^
would be hilarious if the kid had only broke his arm or something. Given a death was involved, I think its a little too soon and disrespectful. But I like the effort.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:10 PM ^
Don't get me wrong, I despise Notre Dame...
<br>This thread is tacky and in poor taste. No points for you.

Remove the post. Not funny and poor taste

That is your idea of a joke? Jesus, you must have the personality of a dead moth.

warped mind do you have?
See how that worked. Not so good ......
REMOVE THIS POST.

This post wouldn't be funny even if someone hadn't really died; as it stands, it's just appalling. Please, please, don't ever joke about a recently deceased student, and try to develop a sense of humor far away from this blog.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
Callous and disrespectful, but it's neither funny nor smart. Im not going to rip into a fellow Michigan fan, but I think we can do better.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:28 PM ^
for posting that. It's not even funny that a student at ND died doing his job. Don't be a fucking douchebag and get off of here...
November 1st, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
Yeah, you're using the death or a 20-year old college student to make a joke that is entirely devoid of humor, and not even clever. It might be different if someone had a broken arm. Please try and use some judgement.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
crickets
November 1st, 2010 at 7:32 PM ^
I have thought that most of the threads you started this week were bad, but this is just terrible. This is just disrespectful.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
Quick, someone make this thread a little classier by telling some dead baby jokes!
November 1st, 2010 at 7:52 PM ^
What's the difference between a truck full of bowling balls and a truck full of dead babies?
You can't unload the truck full of bowling balls with a pitchfork.
How many babies does it take to paint a house?
It depends how hard you throw them.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
What's the difference between a watermelon and a dead baby?
The watermelon floats.
What's got four wheels, smokes, and squeals?
A bus on fire with dead babies inside
November 1st, 2010 at 8:35 PM ^
What's worse than one dead baby?
A barrel full of dead babies! What's worse than that?
The one on the bottom is alive! What's worse than that?
It's eating its way out!
---------------
What has four legs and one arm?
A doberman at the playground.
----------------
How do you stop a baby from crawling in circles?
Nail its other hand to the floor.
November 1st, 2010 at 7:44 PM ^
I saw at least two people dressed up as Notre Dame camera men in Wrigleyville over the weekend. (No I was not one of them).
This wasn't that bad.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
Still nowhere near the realm of good
November 1st, 2010 at 8:10 PM ^
If the point of this post was: Hey! Look at me! I can make an incredibly insensitive joke about a recently deceased teenager- MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:12 PM ^
Bad ... Bad...Bad....
November 1st, 2010 at 8:20 PM ^
Too soon wayyyy too soon.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
Mods must be out to dinner since this one is not deleted yet, not funny at all.
November 1st, 2010 at 9:52 PM ^
The Mods on this site are truly pathetic at this juncture. Between this and Bouje they are utterly useless.
November 1st, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
Clearly the accumulation of points is not an indicator of the quality of the post. I am going to assume that you believed that your post would be humorous. I know that I have spoken and posted things that passed the "will this make me sound stupid" filter only to be confirmed that yes indeed that made me sound/appear stupid.
I hope to see a retraction or "mea culpa".

1. Stabbing your best friend in the leg
2. Farting in your grandmother's soup while its on the table
3. Firing RR..................err wait nevermind that
November 1st, 2010 at 9:33 PM ^
Extremely poor taste post. Some things you can make fun of and some things you can't. The senseless, tragic and premature death of a terrified young man is definitley NOT one of them.
Take it down.
