10/30/10 - Happy Valley: Impact of Former Decommits

Submitted by jtmc33 on

Many of us know, and remember, Roundtree's former commitment to Purdue because Purdue's Mustache coined the famous RR "Snake Oil Salesman" comment.

However, Mr. Michael Shaw was once a commit of a Big 10 rival:  Penn St.

RR convinced Mr. Shaw (the same class as Roundtree) to give UM a look --- and he did.  He looked, he liked, he wears a winged helmet.

The last two years Shaw has been behind Carlos and Minor with little opportunity to show PSU what they are missing.

Here's hoping that a healthy Shaw gets his 100 and a TD.

And on a similar note, UM former commits:  Here's hoping that PSU's punter/kicker Fera shanks-the-night-away while Newsome throws a line-drive to Vinopal (welcome to the starting line-up, kid!) and lofts another to Cullen Christian (a PA native) in the 4th Qtr.

Yeah I'm hoping Shaw is ready to go Saturday. I would love to see Fitz Toussaint (sorry if spelled wrong) get in a few carries too to get back into playing on Saturdays.

Fera kicked every kickoff into the end zone against Minny this past Saturday, and had a number of fine punts. He is a bummer de-commit. Newsome? Not so much.

RR comments in his presser today seemed to contradict the Vinopal starting rumors.

Not trying to mix in more new young guys during the bye week. Don't want to slow down the maturing process of some of the young guys, either

Did I miss something or am I reading too much into this.  The first time through I almost read this as "no, Cams not moving and Vinopal isn't starting".
