OT: Tailgating info. needed for PSU

Submitted by aMAIZEN slot ninja on

First time out to Penn St and have no knowledge about the tailgating there. Where is the hot spot to tailgate and when does it begin seeing how its a night game? Is there any rules that i should be aware of besides the propane grills only policy?

Also, we are getting there early Friday to check out the university and its sites. Does anyone know of some cool places to check out? Any information you guys have to help me out would be much appreciated.

11 or 26 since you did not get a pre-paid pass like me  (it will cost us $40) and head to College Avenue for some fun. We eat at Cafe 210 West and it is great. Walk back across campus and get an ice cream at the Creamery. PSU students are quire hostile but prepare your guests (kids too) for this. There is nothing like walking out of Beaver Stadium with a W.

Contact me at [email protected] if necessary.

The campus has a very nice college atmosphere ... yeah caught some abuse in '08, but Purdue has been much worse.  At least they do know a little about football ...  Check out the lion shrine right across from Rec. Hall.

College Ave runs the length of campus and has a number of food and brew establishments.  Most of the "chain restaurants" are away from campus.  I really like the Deli (right across from a huge mural ... a block from the waffle shop).  If you want to upscale go to the Allen Street Grill ... also on College Ave. Its the upstairs restaurant in that building and its the building they always show on TV.

The stadium looks like shit ... but the tailgating is HUGE.  Nothing but fields around the stadium ... the largest tailgating area I've been to.  Check ebay for a parking pass ,,, could save you some money ... but act fast.

Never been to a night game there ... but I am certain it will be hostile !!!   Can't wait to walk out with a BIG smile on my grill !!!

for the Michigan game ... which will be followed by the other fans.  The fact that "white-out" was not printed on the tickets will not stop a white out for their biggest home game.

No matter  -  I will be wearing the home Blue jersey !!!

is the home Blue Jersey (wth Maize numbers) or the away White Jersey (also with Maize numbers) ... the appropriate attire for Michigan football !!  (Thank God  we aren't like Oregon)

I plan on losing my voice .. simply due to the number of times we'll be singing The Victors !!

the night air in Beaver Stadium is crisp. The sound system is loud and it is one hell of a time win or lose. Prefer to win though. When we win tak a picture of the score board for history's sake.

I will be in attendance as well, looking forward to tailgating all day. I already called in my parking pass and received along with a long list of rules, like no generators, which is lame. But that will not stop us from having fun!

This thread might give you some ideas.  Also worth noting-- if you're coming across Rt. 80, you've probably missed the peak Pennsylvania foliage for that area.  When you catch it on the perfect week, it's the best the Keystone state looks.  Enjoy your trip!

I'm going to the game and taking the family. Unfortunately there are 5 of us. We will split up 3 and 2 if needed, but would love 5 together. Tough to find so far on eBay or stub hub. Anyone with suggestions, let me know. Thanks for the help.

My friends and I thought about wearing Stormtrooper helmets and painting the wing on them. But we are in row 91, so no one would really see us so its not worth it in our minds if we don't get tv exposure.
