David Bowens INTs/Open NFL Thread
Figured if anyone has any other NFL/Michigan player things of note we could throw them in here, rather than start new threads. It's quiet with a Lions bye week.

reminds me of henne vs. To$u. Sad, sad memories.

came up to him afterwards for a friendly pat on the shoulder after making his life difficult for most of the day.

Redskins CB Hall has 4 int's in the second half, thanks to good ole Jay Cutler.
October 24th, 2010 at 4:17 PM ^
At least 2 of the INT's Cutler threw were not his fault. WR's just quit on the routes. The 92 INT for a TD was just a horrible throw.

I simply made a statement I didn't realize I was arguing with anyone. Cutler played bad but did not always get help from his WR's.
Mike Martz was a bad choice for OC for this team.

Tell the truth. You had help putting that together didn't you?

October 24th, 2010 at 5:46 PM ^
Seriously though.
Cutler is playing bad. The OL doesn't know who to block. They don't have a WR that scares anyone besides Hester going deep.
Once again Martz was a bad choice. The Bears need to run the ball not fling it around. How about using a TE once in awhile.

makes me long for the return of Sexy Rexy. I think the two are kindred spirits, but there's just something about Sexy Rexy ...

Merriweather (I think?) hits a Charger and looks to have been leading with the helmet. I couldnt hear if they called a penalty on that or not. I figure the league will so something during the week, but was it a penalty on the field?
October 24th, 2010 at 4:42 PM ^
No, it wasn't a penalty. He hit him in the shoulder with his shoulder, and the receiver's head snapped because of the change of acceleration, not a helmet to helmet hit.

Thanks, I was trying to explain to my brother about the new rule then realized there wasnt a flag on the play.

Pretty scary injury to the chain gang official in the Saints game. Hope he's okay.

Zoltan with a nice punt down to the 19. Off a real low snap.

Seriously, the Charger wide receiver basically giving up the ball when he went down untouched was hilarious.
October 24th, 2010 at 5:40 PM ^
Crable keeps getting so close to the sack on passing downs. It's great to see him playing after two years of injury
October 24th, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
brought back for the PQ, and here he is a couple of weeks later actually playing! Good story there.
October 24th, 2010 at 5:55 PM ^
Alan Branch has been a beast against the Seahawks. 2 sacks and a forced fumble. Good Omen for Penn State week.
October 24th, 2010 at 5:57 PM ^
They have been playing better this year but they are really beating the Broncos up.
Started Orton in my fantasy league. At least he will have to throw the rest of the game.

As long as you're watching...
October 24th, 2010 at 6:49 PM ^
Didn't see him. Oakland 59 Denver 14 at the end of the third. Can't watch anymore.
October 24th, 2010 at 7:21 PM ^
The boxscore has him with a solo tackle.
October 24th, 2010 at 6:11 PM ^
but I benched Kenny Britt in one league, and he scored 56 points...by himself
October 24th, 2010 at 7:02 PM ^
I know how that feels. I'm getting absolutely massacred in my game. I stopped checking the score at halftime of the SD/NE game. Here's a +1 to brighten your day a little.
October 24th, 2010 at 6:26 PM ^
I'm glad Bowens has had a good, long career. I always felt sorry for him that he missed out on '97.
October 24th, 2010 at 6:44 PM ^
Googling only shows that he played there two years, but not why he left. Anyone know why? (Besides it being RR's fault, of course.)
October 24th, 2010 at 7:20 PM ^
I don't think he believed in attending class.
October 25th, 2010 at 9:02 AM ^
How ridiculous would that D-Line be with him on it too? Like that defense needed to get any better...
October 24th, 2010 at 6:40 PM ^
are two games back in the NFC North and would have been one game back if it weren't for that stupid rule on the CJ's catch. If the Lions ended up tied or one game back for the divisional title at the end of the season, I'm going to be furious.
October 24th, 2010 at 7:01 PM ^
Did they really think Derek Anderson and Max Hall was going to work?
October 24th, 2010 at 7:07 PM ^
Bill Belichick has absolutely NO confidence in his defense.
/overly used media refrain from a year ago.
October 24th, 2010 at 7:11 PM ^
seriously.. I used the love the san diego superchargers but after their dealings courtesy of AJ Smith and the hiring of that giant bag of suck norv turner I can't stand them anymore. basically pooped on the chest of your franchise player and a classiest player in league in LT....eff that. you deserve all the bad karma that comes your way.

Former Lion having another good day for Seattle. 87 yards and a TD against the Cardinals
October 24th, 2010 at 8:21 PM ^
as soon as he signed the big contract. He finally had to live up to his potential which is too late.
October 24th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
It is hard to say he quit the Lions because I don't think he got started. Just didn't give a damn.
He has had a couple of nice games for his old college coach Pete Carroll. Hope he keeps it going.
October 24th, 2010 at 9:56 PM ^
that's the same as quitting on the team who drafted you.
October 24th, 2010 at 10:09 PM ^
Guess I was trying to say he quit after college and before becoming a Lion. He sat out a year because he was a part of the failed attempt to allow underclassmen into the draft. I am just happy he has hopefully pulled his act together.

Bowens has gained several lbs since leaving Ann Arbor. Sadly, so have I.

I never knew Bowens started his career at Michigan. As a die hard Browns fan, he might just be my favorite Brown now (for that and the fact he almost singlehandedly out scored NO.

Romo breaks his collarbone. I almost feel bad for the Cowboys.
