[some idiot who just got banned]

[Ed: this is not true. this poster is banned. leaving it up so people can see the refudiation. also here's his directory entry {Ed Ed: uh... this didn't work last time... we'll try not to exploit the fact MGo requires an email address to register… PaulVB]

I have heard from a few confirmed sources that Brian Cook will be leaving mgoblog after the season this year for bigger and better things. Has anyone else heard this because I am starting to doubt my own sources. Do you guys think the site will be able to live on if this news is true?

Sorry to drop a bombshell on everyone like this, but at least this disappointing news is coming in the bye week.

[MOD EDIT] : I am sorry to confirm that this is indeed true. More to come in following weeks.for those of you who don't realize this, posters can add these [MOD EDIT]s themselves… this wasn't any of the mods and certainly not Brian - PaulVB

What am I going to do with all the time I spend on here? I might actually have to study and go to classes... haha, just kiding, I still won't do that.

Sidenote: Shit that means we're left with Bleacher Report and ESPN... Time to panic like a DB's transferring!

As sad as this sounds, this might be good news.  This is like a cigarette smoker who just found out cigarettes would no longer be made.

Sure, it will suck for a while, but eventually life will go back to the way it was before you got hooked on cigs, and in the end you'll be better for it.

So Brian is not leaving, but he is leaving, but then we will know more in the future about Brian not leaving once he explains why he is leaving?  I'm so confused.  My brain feels like this:

Somebody should remove the fake mod edit, so the real mod edit looks more official... or at least make it clear that the fake mod edit came before the real mod edit.

1). Fox Sports buys YardBarker, stories about "is this the end of indie sports blogging" begin to crop up.

2). Bleacher Report and the Washington Post annouce a content partnership, which, until I actually saw the press release, I thought was one of the funniest Twitter pranks ever.

3). Someone "announces" that Brian is leaving MGoBlog at the end of this year.

So we will go back to waiting for the third shoe to drop. Maybe it's Conrad Bain?

If no mod has actually edited this post yet.  And the OP was using is all as a guise to prank one of his friends (the person whos directory entry is posted).  That would be a good one.

So, if Brian takes GERG's place on the coaching staff, will he required to perfectly coif his hair, or will he just get dread? Is there a MGoPaint for that?

Not sure if this issue will come up again, but this was a really awkward attempt by to mods to clarify the issue.  Maybe make the thread title more direct, like "Brian Not Leaving; Idiot OP Banned."

In short, MOAR INFORMATIVE TITLES PLEASE.  Just kidding, I hate that shit.  But this was fucking confusing.

this makes it sounds like there's a standard operating procedure or something. I tried to clarify and remove possible privacy violations without stepping on any other mod's toes, but  we run a pretty ad hoc, fly by the seat of our pants moderation outfit
