Kinda OT- Angry Purdue ACL Hating God
Robbie Hummel has torn his ACL again this season and is out for the year. This according to the broadcasters of the Minnesota Purdue game. This sucks for him as he is a great player and has been hampered by injuries his whole career. Can their basketball team bounce back from this? Can Michigan jump them or is this not significant enough for Michigan to be able to accomplish that?

Thats really sad. He really seems like a great kid and a fun player to watch.
Good Luck in your recovery Robbie, keep your head up.

It just goes from bad to worse with Hummel and Purdue. I am upset because I was really looking forward to watching him play this season. Must be very tough for this young man and this team.

Horrible news for Purdue. Hummel is such a great player. I have to think back-to-back season ending knee injuries could net him a medical redshirt. Hope he recovers because he's fun to watch.

Unbelievable for that kid. Tough luck.
Does he get any redshirt for this or no?

I think he played as a true freshman (as do most players of that ability), so a medical redshirt is a possibility.
The timing is brutal because his classmates (both NBA prospects to some degree) will be finished after this year.

He hasn't used his redshirt yet, so he can redshirt this year without having to do any petitioning of the NCAA.

Cant help but feel bad for him. and no, i dont think this elevates us at all.

Really??

I guess I was trying to hard to tie UM into this somehow haha. I know what Purdue did last year without Hummel so it was a pretty ludicrous question, anyway I wish the kid the best of luck in his recovery.

Kid was a lock for being a 1st round draft pick. This is really sad. I just hope it doesn't cost him a chance to make millions in the League.

E'Twan(sp?) Moore. They may not be considered in the small group of title contenders anymore, but they still have a lot more firepower than Michigan does at this point.
EDIT- Though they could get jumped by the Spartans football team.
Too easy.

We were all watching out for the football injury, and you skipped over that and hit a basketball player. That really sucks for Hummel and Purdue. I can't imagine what tearing the same ACL twice would do to your confidence and to your future athletic ability.
Hopefully he heals up well from this one. We want to beat Purdue at full strength next season.

from Ross-Ade. The Purdue student section, drunken or not, is now in shambles. Spirit is at an all-time low... No longer can the students say "Is it basketball season yet?".... Tisk tisk..
