Tuesday Morning Dumps

Submitted by Blazefire on

Tuesday morning after a loss may well be the worst time for a college football fan. The loss still stings just as bad, but the hopeful, resolute feeling from Monday has gone by the wayside. There is little left but to force yourself to evaluate the previous performance, and still 5 days before you have a chance to prove the previous game an anomaly rather than the growing norm.

Who's got good M news to banish the doldrums?

The way I see people quickly turning on coach after the loss to state and the old school Bo crowd wanting a michigan man coaching michigan.  I can see Denard following coach rod with many other players on this team transferring to coach rods next destination. I hope I am wrong but I can see this staff at Georgia, Lsu, or even back at WVu. Remember most of these kids are very young still have redshirts and wouldnt lose anything it they transferred. I hope Denard is here 2 1/2 more years along with coach but I think Michigan could end up messing this one up for not being patient.

So you are saying that RR is gone after this season and a majority of the team transfers with him? Are you being sarcastic or just plain stupid?

I apologize for being a dick if you are being sarcastic, but if not you need to realize that RR is extremely unlikely to go anywhere after this season.

Edit: After reading your post again, I have realized that I may have been a little off base on what I said above. However, whatever people are saying about RR being fired after this year is hogwash. He is going to be our coach next year and for a long time. He has a proven offense that is just starting to show excellence and potential, and he is catching the attention of a ton of defensive recruits. RR is doing as good of a job as he can and we will continue to improve this year and beyond.

No I will agree with that, but that is assuming that he is going to be fired. RR is not going anywhere at least this year because DB has his back. DB has a ton of confidence in him, and any somewhat intelligent being sees that if RR is fired, UM is back to square one where it was in 2008. I think DB has more intelligence than that.

I'm sure he would be. Maybe not a big time D-1 school. But definitely a mid-line D-1 school at the very least. He is a great coach that is fighting through a lot of adversity with this team. Some AD would pull the trigger in a heart beat I bet.

But like you said, it is a moot point. Not going to happen anytime soon (not after this season at least).

Stage 1:  "Shock and Disbelief" Stage (set in at halftime for me).

Stage 2:  Anger Stage (set in soon after the start of the second half for me)

Stage 3:  "Rebound" or "Next Week" Stage (BlazeFire was clearly in this stage in his previous posts)

Stage 4:  Relapse Stage (seen in BlazeFire's current post - can materialize as shock or depression)

Stage 5:  "Sober" Stage (will likely set in on Thursday after reading the UFRs)

Not terrible, but coming up flat in rivalry games is definitely getting old.

"Flat" is not the way I'd describe our emotional state on Saturday.  I saw a team that was a little too amped up (especially Denard) and was forcing things too much.
