Golf Course Tailgating Observations
October 10th, 2010 at 1:25 PM ^
I've never been to a game like this, where I had so much fun before the game then the game was such a disapointment. After the game I just didn't know what to think.

Are you sure you sobered up? I think you're still posting under the influence.

Actually, I was there and his observations are fairly accurate, especially with the toilets. Also, no, I'm not drunk either.

I saw at least two girls carted out of the stadium on stretchers. Both had passed out and were incredibly pale. 3:30 game + booze + irresponsible undergrads + warm weather + standing for half a football game = trouble.
Overall the MSU fans I encountered were respectful and friendly. There were a few idiots on the walk home that were sloshed enough to yell some pretty nasty stuff, but it was less than I expected. Congratulated a few of them on a good game and got responses of "Shoelace for Heisman!" (Probably sarcastic, but it's tough to pick up with all the slurring of speech.)
Walked through the golf course for a half hour looking for someone. That was a waste of time. So many people.

I agree that most were pretty respectful, but that there were a few idiots. There was one jerkoff that was leaving our section early saying some fairly rude things and all the other State fans in our area were apologizing for him.

After the game, 2 different MSU people waving around sign that said, "Little Brother Kicked Your Ass." So, yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they were NOT respectful about it. However, my response to one of them was that OHHHH you beat us 3 times in a row compared to us beating you 7 times in a row. Guess it's finally a rivalry again.
I don't know about anyone else, but it's not even losing that sucks. It's having to put up with those douches and their ignorant rants for another year...

yeah, the golf course was a little liquored up...
and outside of the golf course...

I saw the guy get knocked out on the golf course. It was pretty ugly. He never even saw it coming and was out cold for at least 5 minutes. Not that he deserved it, but he was right up in the mix.

Yep the Golf Course sucks so much it's full every game.

I tailgated at the golf course for the first time yesterday and had an awesome time. I agree with the OP--there were quite a few people that were wicked drunk. A friend of mine drank himself into the hospital.

Was that normal to have that many State fans at the game? That is the first time I've been to a UM-MSU game. Seemed like 30-40% of the stands were green and white.

OT: What time does the course open for 3:30 games. I'm making the 14 hour haul from SC this weekend and want to squeeze every second I can out of it.

I can't atest for this year's game because I wasn't there. But I was in '08 and I couldn't believe how out of control some of my fellow fans were, obviously it was a very small percentage of idiots but when your witnessing mutliple fights involving Michgan fans fighting Michigan fans(talk about having your priorties backwards), your in a bit of disbelief, it was pretty ridiculous. Than again, I guess that's what you get when the younger crowd starts drinking at 9 o'clock in the morning.
