While at the game MAKE NOISE

Submitted by wildbackdunesman on

Just a friendly reminder to all that we are still running into Michigan State fans that call the Big House the “Quiet House.”  They say, “how can 100,000 fans be so quiet?”

If you are going to the game on Saturday, it is your duty to be as loud as possible.  Get behind and stay behind this team.  Even one missed audible or false start could make the difference in stalling a Spartan drive and in a close game that could make the difference.

Lose your voice and mind, but stay classy.  Clap, stomp, scream - go bizirk - when Cousins is behind center.  If you want to go hardcore, bring a cowbell or pennies in a water bottle.  Make every Spartan that is in attendance never use the expression the “quiet house” again.

If the team falls behind early, stay with them, boost them up with our noise.  Our defense this season has played better in the second half and we will make a run if we get behind.

Win or lose, everyone that is attending the game must consider their personal day a failure if they weren’t helping out the team.  Do not bring a Spartan with a spare ticket and wear maize.  Get behind this team.

Flying up from Tampa, plan to not speak from Sunday - Tuesday becuase I will be screaming my @$$ off.  The least we can do is give our boys a legit homefield advantage and be a 12th (and with the size of our stadium) a 13th man.  All in yall - the entire game.  GET UP AND GET LOUD!

Make sure you stash lots of water because you can no longer bring a bottle in.  That way you can maintain your stamina and cheer long for the whole game.  It's supposed to be warm and sunny.

MSU fans have no right to blast our fans for not making enough noise after last seasons no show at Munn Ice Arena. At least our fans show up to the games, unlike Munn last year where UM fans came close to outnumbering the state fans in a playoff game. Next time any state fan brings up the "quiet house" to you, you remind them of that incident. Different sport and all, but same fanbase.

Yes, but those are less important Big Ten games. Crisler was filled to the rafters for the NIT runs we've made in this decade. Make fun of the NIT all you want, but when the team has had success, the fanbase has come out in support of them. I want to say that that was the first time UM and MSU had met in the CCHA playoffs not at the Joe, they were favored to dominate us, and still no one showed.

Earlier this year I thought I would find one of those drinking fountains and use it to refill my empty water bottle.  The stream of water only cleared the spout by about one inch.  It was not even high enough for me to tilt my water bottle past 90 degrees.  I gave up and walked back to my seat unquenched.

Step 1: Empty water bottle.

Step 2: "Crush" water bottle to make as flat as possible.

Step 3: Squeeze flattened water bottle between belt and body at the small of the back.

Step 4: Pull shirt overtop.

Step 5: Enter Michigan Stadium.

Step 6: Quench thirst, keep hydrated.

Step 7: Yell.  Constantly.

Step 8: ???

Step 9: Profit! (M win).

Seriously though, I've done this everygame so far with not even a second glance.

This game is important enough (even though I hate to legitimize Sparty's claim to being relevant) that I am confident it will be crazy loud on Saturday. The one caveat is if we win the toss, defer and State scores easily on their opening drive (oh please god don't let that happen) then it could get much quieter.

they were louder than I expected actually.

As for the main post-I will leave all keys, coins, bottles, vuvuzelas, at home, BUT I will yell really loud every time the play clock starts while we are on D.  Watch the playclock people, make noise while they are at the line of scrimmage AND in the huddle.  Go Blue!

That's a kinda obvious reminder, but why not.  It's like telling a Spartan, "While at a potluck dinner, throw punches."  In any event...can't wait for saturday...Go Blue!

I've been telling my friends and family that if I come home with a voice, I consider it a failure. This week its not a suggestion but a way of life. I have been drinking tea and talking less than normal to make sure my voice is strong as possible.

Its going to be a good Saturday, lets make some Big Noise at the Big House.

Love it man!

I've been intentionally speaking quite softly to people and have gotten some weird responses from people at work today. When they ask me if i'm sick, i just say "yes", because explaining it would take too much valuable vocal chord energy.

My fiancee thinks i'm f'n with her, and is getting pissed. It will all be worth it come Saturday, but either way, i'll have nothing left on Sunday.
