While at the game MAKE NOISE

Submitted by wildbackdunesman on

Just a friendly reminder to all that we are still running into Michigan State fans that call the Big House the “Quiet House.”  They say, “how can 100,000 fans be so quiet?”

If you are going to the game on Saturday, it is your duty to be as loud as possible.  Get behind and stay behind this team.  Even one missed audible or false start could make the difference in stalling a Spartan drive and in a close game that could make the difference.

Lose your voice and mind, but stay classy.  Clap, stomp, scream - go bizirk - when Cousins is behind center.  If you want to go hardcore, bring a cowbell or pennies in a water bottle.  Make every Spartan that is in attendance never use the expression the “quiet house” again.

If the team falls behind early, stay with them, boost them up with our noise.  Our defense this season has played better in the second half and we will make a run if we get behind.

Win or lose, everyone that is attending the game must consider their personal day a failure if they weren’t helping out the team.  Do not bring a Spartan with a spare ticket and wear maize.  Get behind this team.

After our last FG attempt (was it UMass ... can't remember)  -  there was a chorus of boos.  Talk about a lack of class.  This team is exciting to watch and even if we struggle  - it is not due to a lack of effort.  (I doubt this is any of "us")

So I hear ya  -  I will be loud as hell the entire game.  Don't give up fans, keep cheering and screaming regardless of what happens - so boo all you want against sparty ... but act like fans for the maize and blue !!!

Go Blue !

Remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer tried to pay for Costanza's Calzone with pennies? That's how I picture wildbackdunesman going to the game. Load up those cargo pants dunesman!

I will be yelling from Las Vegas. I had to sell my tickets to this game (to a hardcore Michigan fan BTW) due to some circumstances that prevent me from attending. I wish I could be there, but I will be at the Alumni Bar here in Vegas at about 9 in the morning getting sauced up!

Do NOT let the throng of Spartans that will no doubt be in attendance get their "Go Green, Go White" chant going. There is very little that irritates me more when we play them at home (and this goes for basketball, too). When they start that shit up.... and you know they will....  MAKE NOISE.  There's no reason we can't neutralize that easily by yelling GO BLUE over top of it.

if you are skimming this thread, STOP HERE for a second and commit this to your memory as VERY IMPORTANT PRIORITY

1) do not let them cheer over us

2) do not wait to start yelling until after they break huddle. do it even before the playclock

3) do not wait to start yelling until the person next to you does. they're probably waiting for you to do it. I'm always the first one in my area and I hate it, because if I don't start, I feel like they will forget or something

4) convince a newcomer or alumnus to yell loud. Tell them it's only on defense, and be nice about it. When they yell at the darn kids to please sit down, they get louder than I can, so if they used their powers for good it would be perfect

5) get excited as hell, get loud as hell, and have stamina. Get some sleep the night before, don't check mgoblog til 5 am. no offense to the blog and its advertisers, I think you'll understand.

6) wear MAIZE. If you or your friend (or acquaintance, or person you see on the street) has a sweet blue or white jersey, tell them how sweet it is but they should LEAVE IT AT HOME OR TAKE IT OFF AND HOLD IT IN THEIR HAND/WAVE IT AROUND. If you have a friend that just isn't a huge fan but wants to see the game, FORCE THEM TO WEAR MAIZE. THIS IS CRITICAL.

finally, if all these things come together properly and everyone pitches in:

7) Don't start the wave if you're a freshman. You just aren't ready. I know you're excited we're crushing little bro, but you don't know the ins and outs. We got this.

They had better come to class on Monday with sore throats, or they'll be subject to a pop-quiz...on material we haven't covered. I've spent 5 season losing my voice at all but one home game (and 2 away games), so I implore everyone, even if you're sitting down, please, PLEASE yell.

If you cannot yell, clap your hands, stomp your feet, just make noise! PLEASE! Shut down Sparty! Go Blue! Exclamation points!

Went to M for 4 yrs, been living in AA for 2 more.  Haven't been to a game yet this year, but I hear the renovations have made a huge difference.  I could even tell last year before they were finished.

I miss losing my voice BEFORE the game, walking down Hoover, chanting, screaming, and sometimes getting into it with ignorant fans of other teams.  When I would get to the stadium, my vocal chords would already be raspy, but I still screamed through it.  Make this a game that M and MSU fans will remember.  GO WILD. GO BLUE!!!

lets make this the most hostile environment in recent memory and really take home field advantage to another level. I really think the crowd is going to end up playing a huge factor in this game, GO BLUE!

I will be the idiot in section 10 bellowing like I was following William Wallace into battle.  My wife will be the one cowering in embarassment.  There are few things that I deem worthy of shedding self-awareness.  MSU-UM is one of them.

Let's take a tally of which sections we all have covered - I saw someone else in section 6 and i'll be reppin' there too in row 68. Hopefully the other gentleman is lower down and can get the lower rows going, i got the top half homey! (unless you're in row 30 and wanna switch seats with me)

Section 24, Row 49, filled with pure hatred and no sportsmanship whatsoever.  Hopefully I'll hear other fans tell me similar things that were said to me during the UConn game, such as these gems:

"Please watch your language."

"Those are college kids out there, relax."

"My little son is 6 and a half years old, and you're starting to scare him."

Oh, I can not wait, baby. Bring the heat.

I will be going to the game but my ticket is in the car, so I don't remember what section but it is in the north end just off the endzone, almost opposite the student section (40?).  However, I am bringing my camera but between snaps I'll be loud...deal?

For UConn, I was just behind the handicap ring (Row 94?) and for UMass I was on the opposite of the field but in the 70's.  Both games were about the 45s though.  For Sparty, I'll be around row 10 but towards the endzone.  I'm not sure I'll like that as much though because I seem to remember the lower rows not having a ton of taper.   But those pictures were taken with a 500mm lens.
