Game Times/ Network Predictions

UTAH: Announced ABC Regional Coverage 330

MIAMI OH: Announced ESPN or ESPN 2 National Coverage Noon

@Notre Dame: Annoucned NBC National Coverage 330

@Wisconsin : Estimate ABC Regional coverage 330; No 330 game for the Big -10 has been announced. However Illinois at PSU is at 8. So the othre options for ABC are MSU @ IND and Minny @ OSU. So we probably get the regional nod here

Illinois: Announced ABC 330 Regional Coverage

Toledo: Estimate National Coverage Big Ten Network Noon: ABC will probably go with Purdue at OSU for the 330 Regional Coverage. While PSU @ Wisco is a night game. So we're relegated to the BTN or ESPN2

@Penn State: Annoucned ESPN or ESPN2 430 National Coverage

MSU : Estimate 330 ABC Regional Coveage. All other Big 10 games have been annoucned with no 330 game. So by process of elimination. Things could change if MSU and Umich are combined 0-12

Purdue: Estimate NOOn ESPN National coverage; This is the hardest to estimate. There's no OSU game. So the other options for ABC are Wisco @ MSU, and Iowa @ Illinois. Depending on Purdue's record and assuming they aren't undefeated I think they go with Iowa @ Illinois. Leaving us on ESPN or ESPN2.

@MINNESOTA: Estimate Noon or One BTN Natiional Coverage. Minnesota will be horrible. However the Central Time zone problem as well as that this is probably the least marketable Big Ten game of the week. This also might be one of those ESPN Classic games

Northwestern: Estimate Noon I'm geussing ESPN2 Or the BTN. No way this gets ABC coverage I'm thinking this is 3rd or 4th choice. So The deuce or BTN.

OSU: Estimate ABC National Coverage. Pretty easy. Only question is whether its a 330 or Noon game. I'll assume we have a couple losses and make it a Noon. Allowing ABC to make it a doubleheader with MSU @ PSU

A couple of improvements: #1 Wisconsin is at home and Purdue is away but no big deal on that. #2 I believe the contract with ABC/ESPN & BTN is each team has to have x amount of appearances and if my memory serves me right Michigan needs to be on BTN at least 3 times. I like the Toledo pick and then probably @ Minnesota and Northwestern. #3 It seems recently that everytime Michigan plays at Minnesota it is a night game so that will probably be an 8p start time on BTN however ESPN seems to like to pick up this game b/c of the Brown Jug. #4 I think the 3rd BTN game would be between Purdue and Minnesota with Michigan maybe being on BTN for all 4 of them. This really is all a guessing game. I do miss having alot of noon games at home so I can get home to watch the 3:30p games and the night games.

I think that the intrigue of a major change at Michigan would make their opening game of national interest. USC is big, but they are playing Virgina and will destroy them. Not much of a game, really. The Utah - Michigan game, well who the heck knows! I PRAY that the local station in Omaha broadcasts Michigan, because I don't have cable!

Anyone know if I'm going to get the 3:30 game against Utah in Boston? I think it's possible since it's a good matchup and everyone is curious to see Michigan. We tend to get regional games here.

Yes, as long as it counts as part of the Big Ten's TV contract, which requires that its 3:30 ABC regional coverage game be mirrored on one of the ESPNs in markets where the game isn't on ABC.

However, I don't know if this applies to the non-conference games.

that applied to conference games only, but could be wrong.  in any case, ABC in boston will be showing USC-UVA.  ACC team taking on the Trojans?  No-brainer for an "ACC town" (and by "ACC town" i mean a city that happens to have a sports team which participates in the ACC with no real loyalties to said conference).

I would geuss most of the country is going to get UVA -USC with the exception being Big Ten Country and the State of Utah.  Its the marquee matchup of the week.

I just recently moved from Ann Arbor to Houston and know I'm getting USC.

I did this because I was considering getting ABC gameplan and now I'm not.  Just getting the Big Ten Network

Just fyi, a lot of the games that haven't been announced yet will be 12 or 5 day selections, so we definitely won't know much until seeing how good Michigan actually is.
