The most humble kid ive ever seen in my life.. He is nothing short of amazing.
October 5th, 2010 at 7:50 PM ^
Denard's smile is like a thousand kittens dipped in egg batter and rolled in fairy dust, fried to a deep golden brown in oil of pegasus horn, and served on a plate of dreams and starshine.
October 5th, 2010 at 7:58 PM ^
the greatest sentence ever assembled. As well as the closest I've seen to an accurate description of Denard's smile. Well done sir.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
I don't know how I feel about deep fried kittens but +1 for that amazing image I will take with me the rest of the season. But yeah, his smile is something very close to that but with dilithium sprinkles on top.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:01 PM ^
Right for lineup.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:41 PM ^
But your first sentence made me lol.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:05 PM ^
Yep, it's completely charming and warms the cockles of my heart.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:17 PM ^
That was nothing short of awesome. I hope you don't mind if I steal it.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
Thanks for giving me the best laugh of the day. Pure comedy or just an honest description of one of the most likeable kids ever to put on the winged helmet - either way it is an instant classic of MGoBlog commentary.
Hail to El Jeffe and to the Victors.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
I'm totally using that line on my girlfriend.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
I'll have you know that wife was pissed off at me for making her get out of bed to read that until she read it. If I could plus 10 you I would sir.
October 5th, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
Denard shows us with hard work, talent, and a great attitude anything is possible. He set the Michigan record for yards in a game in his 2nd start! Sky is the limit!
GO BLUE!
October 5th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
He actually did it in his first start, then broke that record again in his second one.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
One other interesting stat; he's averaging this year 382.6 yards/game, which by itself will be the #1 in the all time YPG by a Michigan player.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:40 PM ^
don't forget the dilithium
October 5th, 2010 at 7:53 PM ^
I fall in love with him over and over every weekend. Awkward?
October 5th, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
this is how Florida fans felt with Tebow (and I feel dirty comparing them in any way because I'm not a Tebow fan)...but how can anyone watch this and dislike the guy?
October 5th, 2010 at 11:13 PM ^
No reason anyone should dislike Tebow really, the only problem was the amount of media attention he got. It's great when your player has all that attention but it gets annoying when it is another player. And you really can't blame Tebow for the attention he was given, same as you can't blame Denard for the coverage he gets.

... so much of Eric Liddell from Chariots of Fire, when he references god at around 2:30.
Eric Liddell in Chariots of fire: "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure."
I'm not a religious man, but the humility is great.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:12 PM ^
What a great kid, cant help but like him.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:13 PM ^
His smile is contagious, any time I see him in these interviews, I start smiling too! It's just a "everything's gonna be allright." Soo, glad he is ours! That attitude can be contagious, and personally, I believe D.Rob is the reason why/how Tate got back on track. After hearing all the positive things D.Rob was saying about Tate and Tate eventually realizing how hard Denard worked his ass off; it pushed Tate to be a better player/person. I mean the other call-outs im sure didn't hurt either, but still.
All props go to D.Rob and everything he has done, is doing, and will do for us.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
Love watching him dodge dumb questions like he does defenders. Everyone tries to get him to say something but he gives em nothing more than he should. All in for Michigan and that's all that matters.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
When Erin Andrews and this guy asks about his accomplishments he just repeats All in for Michigan. What a stark contrast between Denard with press vs Pryor with the press.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:10 PM ^
I bet Pryor has posters of himself in his room, and watches his highlights in amazement.
October 6th, 2010 at 8:39 PM ^
A la Jesus Shuttlesworth?
October 5th, 2010 at 9:55 PM ^
I have noticed this too.... and the aplomb in which he does it. I am sure those reporters constantly have to do a double take and ask themselves, "did he just dodge me?"
He is so smiling, unpretentious and non-offputting with it that you don't see it coming until it is too late. It is as if he is toying with them at times. A subtle dilithium shot. Left, right and gone!
October 5th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
of his interviews. He refuses to be sucked in and just deflects the question back with a discussion of the line or downfileld reciever's blocking to spring him.
I'm seriously worried about the cheap shots he is gonna take b/c if I was a DC I'd be trying to hurt him b/c that is the only successful defense so far.

Does anyone else see the MSU co-ed with an IQ of 110 on the banner ad? It's asking me if I can beat her and it's creeping me out.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
The fact you see green? Or, the fact that a Spartie has an I.Q. of 110?
October 5th, 2010 at 10:03 PM ^
who thinks that the girls pictured on the dating site ads are real.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:24 PM ^
"beat her?"
October 5th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
That reply combined with dude in your avatar freaks me out a bit.
October 6th, 2010 at 10:36 PM ^
you have one of my favorite signatures on the MGoBoards. I smile every time I read it.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:31 PM ^
comments his passing game improvement. i think you can see how proud denard is of his improvement there.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
can someone please .gif denard going from a straight face to a smile? thanks in advance
October 5th, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
If you watch that last long pass play (denard to hemingway) the corner on Indiana (#6 Richard Council) landed funny (IT LOOKS PAINFUL!) and messed up his knee and is going to be out for a while...it sucks for the senior but it looks like ANGRY MICHIGAN CORNERBACK HATING GOD'S Brother from Bloomington ANGRY INDIANA CORNERBACK HATING GOD was getting his hate on last weekend...
October 5th, 2010 at 9:29 PM ^
My oldest daughter is now a senior at Southern Miss and I would offer her if she would consent. I love that young man!
October 5th, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
send him out on the recruiting trail to reel recruits in. All he would have to do is smile and say "All in for Michigan".
October 5th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
Denard is like a ray of sunshine on a bleak autumn day that just rejuvenates the soul and makes the world seem at peace for the moment. Being a man of faith I certainly understand what he feels inside. My prayers for him are not that he break records, play better, or beat this team or that team - but rather for him to just continue to play up to his natural ability and live up to his beliefs. Everything else will fall into place accordingly, and we, the Michigan faithful, will be proud.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:51 PM ^
This kid is smart! Honestly, to hear him speak you might think his command of the language is not great, he's not eloquent or bombastic, but you watch him play and you can see he understands the offense very well, is well-coached, and is smart enough to stay within himself. Also, his mindset is clearly disciplined and wise: he is avoiding the hype, staying away from the limelight, keeping it simple and keeping it real. EXTREMELY difficult for a young man to do under these conditions. Clearly comes from strong, tight family.
For Rich Rodriguez to discover and nurture this kid, it is more than enough to give him a solid chance of years to put a program together. So all the RR haters, Boo-Yah and take a shower!
October 5th, 2010 at 9:52 PM ^
Speaking about Denard's performances, his best ones were against the better competition not the UMass or BG.
He got 502 yards against ND, 494 yards against Indiana and 383 yards against UConn, so to me that look like the bigger the game the better he gets. He may or may not put this type of numbers again this season, but I'm pretty sure he's still going to score plenty of TD and be dangerous every time he touches the ball.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:55 PM ^
October 5th, 2010 at 10:07 PM ^
Denard has been to a ton of press conferences and interviews, and nobody has asked him the one question that we all want answered.
Denard, how the fuck did you get so fast?
October 5th, 2010 at 10:41 PM ^
That's because everyone already knows.
A splash of natural ability, and hours upon hours of gut-wrenching hard work. Nothing good comes easy, and it seems Denard knows this.
October 5th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
He really does seem like a great young man. It is hard to remember that these guys are just kids because they possess so much ability. Coach Rod deserves all the credit in the world giving this kid a chance. I flat didn't see it last year, but I am guessing Rod knew this could happen given his freakish speed.
I love his All in for Michigan lines and I truly believe he just wants to win. I can't wait for kickoff....I am already fired up.
October 6th, 2010 at 1:36 AM ^
Did anyone hear the Cousins interview on ESPN? If not, he got asked what he thought about Denard. I found it awesome that Denard's now a topic of discussion in other teams' (offensive) player's interviews. It's like, "Cousins you're pretty good, but let's talk about Denard instead because he's amazing."
October 6th, 2010 at 8:27 PM ^
as well but wow does there seem to be a lot of mush in this thread! maybe not bad, but definitely mush! i think el jeffe put a spell on you michigan football dudes, haha! but seriously he is humble but i garauntee he will fight you tooth and nail to help his team win! the great part is DRob represents himself, his family, his coaches, teammates and his university well! here is to DRob not playing like a deep fried kitten on starbursts and dreams, lol! GO BLUE BEAT green!
