Michigan favored by 5 over State.

It looks like Michigan is a 5 point favorite. Sounds right to me. I think the ENTIRE Big 10 proved how hard it is to play on the road last weekend. EVERY team struggles on the road. MSU will play its first road game in AA (not counting the 15K crowd at FF). http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/

Another thing to keep in mind is that Michigan is receiving a ton of national hype and that we're already a much more popular team than State, so that combined with home field makes me think that this game is basically a pick 'em or MSU might even be a slight favorite.

Remember, sports books are set so that 50% of people will bet one way and 50% will bet another, so a team with a lot of hype like Michigan is going to get an inflated line.

How the earth did State jump us for one thing, and how can they be even that close to us??  They can't stop our offense at all, and their offense really doesn't stand a chance against our defense!

a betting man.  As a life-long Michigan fan  and absolute MSU hater.....i would jump all over that and take the points.

MSU has the best defense we have seen as yet.  They do not have the potent offense that IU had...but they are not slouches either.

And our defense is......well.......you know.....

I cannot bear the idea of losing to those JO's again.

and i am not too impressed with their secondary.  But i still believe over-all, they are at least slightly better than ND's defense.

If our offense is as good this Saturday as it has been so far.....i like our chances A LOT.

Its very hard for any team to match us when it comes to scoring....

Just a gut feeling....but i think we pass a lot more this week than we have been.

Meanwhile, it was fun to see Lynn Henning in the News write,

The Spartans will be favored, and should be.

Henning, stick to baseball.  Let Wojo and Angelique show you how it's done.

Henning is the News' State homer, and wil always write garbage like this.  His articles consistently range from "Why is State always underrated?" to "State is struggling this year, but don't count them out"

I think Angelique picked Michigan last week by more than a touchdown ... I wonder if that has changed after this past weekend.

I was thinking we would be favored by 1. They've been more impressive than we have this year, with the big caveat that they haven't played a road game yet.

yeah, Spartys have played 4 home games and in front of 15,000 at Ford Field.  have not experienced a hostile environment yet.  let's make sure that we give them one.  i will be in Section 19 raising hell. . . . . .GO BLUE!

Seems to me like it's gonna be close, seeing as UM & MSU both played ND in really close games.  And since it's so close, I'm going with UM, since they have home-field advantage.

And somehow MSU's more balanced team doesn't frighten me as much as Indiana's passing game did.

I think state has a slightly better defense than ND, but they obviously dont have the weapons on offense that ND has.  I like Michigan's chances at home.

I have a feeling that Coach has some goodies in the tank for the Big Ten Skull-Crackin' Tour.

No idea why. Just a hunch. Yeah, we suck on D, but we've yet to take the wraps off the Death Butterfly just yet.

I'm taking the OVER.

The ONLY way Sparty is going to win is if Dantonio's Mafia uses guns ...

Too bad for them we have Denard - he dodges(er, outruns!!) bullets

Sorry Sparty - time for the balance of power to come back to equilibrium.

All in for BLUE!!

but I keep believing that the defense is going to keep improving little by little and then just shock the heck out of us with a break through in a big game.   I'm just hoping it happens soon, preferably against State.  All the team really  needs is a few more stops on defense they could do something special this year.  GO BLUE!!!
