MGoPodcast 2.1: Return Of The Mack

It returns. Why didn't we have them for the first four games? Our super-inside connect with WOLV moved to Chicago and it took some time to coordinate with WTKA, which is generously providing studio space, and get everything up and going. But that's all in the past and we'll have them on the regular from here on out except maybe next week because I have to go to a wedding in Arizona this weekend and most of Sunday is driving or being on a plane. We'll try; no guarantees.

Since this is the first one since the season preview we talk about the entire nonconference season, discussing positives in negatives in a meandering conversation. A special section is dedicated is to One Of These Seasons Is Not Like The Other.

After that we bring on regular guest Jamiemac of Just Cover to talk Indiana—he is a nominal Hoosier when it comes to the football—and the rest of the Big Ten, with far too much time spent on this weekends epic clash between Minnesota and Northwestern. (Note: the lines we talk about were the LSVC opening ones since that's all we had at the time; the line moves since have conformed to expectations by making Wisconsin about a field goal favorite at MSU and pushing the Indiana-M line out to about two touchdowns.

Brian we need to know your weekend wedding schedule because of the baffoon who scheduled a Michigan football Saturday wedding.  You need to give us ceremony time and reception start vs kickoff and your plans to go radio silent(pretty easy to avoid UM scores in Arizona at a wedding I would think) watch at the bar, stream it at your table etc etc.....

Brian must be getting less sleep lately because he is making mistakes he basically never made in the past:

Last sentence, second para:

"A special section is dedicated is to One Of These Seasons Is Not Like The Other."

should probably be:

"A special section is dedicated  to One Of These Seasons Is Not Like The Other."

Uh.....no.  Not unless Wisc -1.5 (per LVSC) is "about a field goal favorite".

Most lines AS OF RIGHT NOW 281910RSEPT2010 (that's 7:10 pm Central Daylight Time for non-military) are either Wisc -1.5 or Wisc -2.  Only 1 has been as high as Wisc -2.5 -- that's M Resort, and was only there for about 11 hours before going back to Wisc -2.

If I may offer a bit of criticism, this is like most podcasts that remind me of something the mainstream media really does do better than new media -- talking.

Like most podcast hosts, Brian and Tim just don't have good radio voices.

Awesome Brian.  Thanks!

I'd like to suggest for the next podcast, that you increase the volume.  The music was fine in the beginning but I had a hard time hearing what you both were saying even at full volume.  Granted, I was working out and someone had the TV blasting, but my other podcasts came in much clearer.

MGoPodcast is like 'Freedom Rock' to my ears, now just 'Turn It Up Man!'

Sound was very soft and only on one side of my headphones as well.

Why is it that your voices remind me of Saturday Night Lives, 'Schweddy Balls' skit?

Echoing others, I had a hard time hearing Brian while listening to the podcast on the train.  I know that there might be some quality issues with my earbuds, but maybe up the volume a bit during next week's show.

Still, great stuff.

Where'd the subject line go? Other tech points, as said, volume was low. Couldn't hear you over music. Two, it's not actually in ITunes yet. 3. This post doesn't appear in App (subject line related?). 4. The QuickTime on mobile doesn't have the time/progression line, so if it cuts out, you have to start from the beginning. The fast forward/repeat 30 seconds things were disabled. Was trying to repeat something I couldn't hear, and couldn't. Then couldn't get back to where it cut out. 5. There seems to be some weird beeping electronic reverb in the background of talking. 6. It's cutting out at the same time, around 15 minutes in, as mentioned above.

But good to have it back.
