Freshman/Backup thread

Any comments on the youngsters?

I for one thought Courtney Avery looked really good, Cullen Christan not so much.  Fitz is a beast. Demens/BlackDileo got some good playing time.  Devin well he is the future and it looks bright.

It was really nice to see. I mean, we had our backups and third strings in, but BG was playing starters still. That was a solid pick.

But yeah, Mouton needs to make all of our interceptions, because he can hold onto them when he does.

Did switch hands on pick. More importantly made a nice read on pick. I know not a freshman but I thought demens did some nice things. Bodes well for next year.

Toussaint stands out obviously because of the monster run. Hopefully we see him start to get up there with Shaw and Smith as far as carries goes. Courtney Avery also looked really solid. Never was there an embarrassing defensive lapse followed byes name getting announced.

Avery looked small but a playmaker.  I can see why the coaches were high on him.  Devin showed flashed but it more Vince Young than Denard.  Like the young guys, and I think they'll be making plays during the season.

Rank 1. DG 2. C. Avery 3. Hopkins(would have been 2 if not for the fumble) 4. Dileo 5. Vinopal(I know he fumbled, but it was a nice read) 6. M. Robinson 7. Christian And the invisible starting freshman of the game award goes to Hagerup!

I was impressed with Avery and Hopkins. But, I love what I saw from Fitz. I cant wait to unleash him on Sparty.

How did the future freshman look on the sidelines? I don't know exactly who was there, but they had to be impressed.

I think Umass would destroy BGSU

Quentin Washington looked like Omaneh on a big run, I think it was the Touissant long run. Made a nice block pretty far downfield on someone. If he can step in for Schilling next year and do stuff like that, I'll be incredibly happy.
