That is funny.  People make way too much out of the blue turf.  It doesn't show well on TV, but it looks better in person.  Also, they replaced the turf this year, so it should look better on TV.

Some people say that they cannot take Boise seriously because of the turf.  It is kind of odd, but that is their tradition.  They have had it for over twenty years, which is longer than they had it green (and all of the time that they have been in 1A).  Asking BSU to get rid of The Blue is like asking Michigan to get rid of our wings.  It is part of their identity.

Also, I wonder if the teams that whine about the advantage of blue jerseys on blue turf also complain when they have to play MSU or another team with green jerseys on green turf.

Personally, I despise the blue turf.  The only thing it can do is increase home-field advantage.  An analogy for your baseball players out there is having a team paint their centerfield fence white (rather than black).  You can call the turf "cosmetic" but it definitely creates and unfair advantage, in my humble opinion.  Plus, it looks terrible on TV (unwatchable).

If the Beavers win this game look for a bunch of future Boise State opponents to do the same.  If they lose then look for the laundry department to ask for raises.

the Blue turf, but I never honestly believed that it really had an impact on the game. I mean, given the right conditions, normal grass can be fairly blue.

I'll be more interested in how long eastern Washington can keep that red turf before somebody sets fire to it.

Here that is, by the way, in their first game on it last weekend. turns out I was right. The camera can't deal with it. In one shot, it's just as red as the uniforms, in the next, it's practically a dark pink.

Painting their practice field is sorta stupid, but at least it shows that BSU is not going to "sneak up" on anybody anymore.  It looks like they are going to now be treated like a "rivalry game" opponent by major teams now.

and budget cuts and you get department budgets slashed, prisons being closed, services for the elderly being dumped. . . I know we need our bread and circuses, but crikee.

i was reading somewhere about how it is an advantage for Boise state when they wear the blue uniforms with the blue field, something along the lines of pass coverage, it can be an advantage because the blue jerseys blend in the field.

I just saw something on Espn about this
