But if he's not, it WON'T be because of his lack of arm strength as i've seen some in the media speculate. That throw off his back foot to Grady in the first half showed that his arm could play on Sundays.

Is one of Shaw's big runs toward the end of the highlight. I love the fact that Denard hands it off to Shaw, and then ends up ten yards up feild from him waiting to make a block. I know it wasn't the best game, but I love the fact that even after last weeks games, Denard is still able to impress me with his speed.

as glorious as the Woodson segment is, it's kind of painful to compare it to the curruent secondary. Is he allowed to recruit...?

Suzy Favor Hamilton won 23 Big Ten and 9 NCAA championships and was Big Ten athlete of the year 4 times. (It's the Suzy Favor Award now.) I'm kind of okay with her being ahead of Woodson.

I am impressed each week when I see the teams speed. In most highlights the Michigan guys are pulling away from the defenders and the separation is impressive. I like seeing others like Shaw and Stonum pulling away

to watch the every offensive play, but instead of watching the ball, simply focus on the left tackle. For the first half + 1 series of the 2nd half, it is Mark Huyge, who does, what I would consider an adequate job overall. In pass protection he is very good. In run blocking he rarely misses an assignment, but is usually caught in a stalemate. Overall, he is much improved from last year.
Then, watch when #77 Lewan comes in. Holy pancake blocks, Batman. The effort with which this kid played EVERY play with was outstanding. I didn't count, but he had at least 5 pancakes, and he was consistently moving his man off the line of scrimmage. His athleticism to move with his defender and his leg drive are incredible for any age of college lineman, let alone a RS freshman.

I had a strong feeling that Huyge would start the season over Lewan, because he is exactly what you stated above, a guy who knows the postion in and out, plays good and consistent, and MOST importantly the coaches know they can win with him, EARLY. After hearing Schilling say that he was more comfortable with Huyge ( interview during fall training camp) because he's played with him before, I knew the coaches would start Huyge and go the safe route. HOWEVER, Lewan is hungry and showing what he can do, and hopefully he steps up and wins that spot flat out, instead of getting promoted after Huyge is torched by better competition.

Why would Dee Hart go to Auburn? That stadium looks like some place you'd explore in Fallout 3, and the people making up the fans in the Gameday crowd fit right in. Just keep on getting those W's.

Agreed. I always think back to "The Team" speech by Bo. "We're going to believe in each other. We're not going to criticize each other. We're not going to talk about each other. We're going to ENCOURAGE each other!"

I disagree completely. Bo's "The Team" speech was called "The Team", not "The Team, The Staff, The Athletic Department, etc"
PLAYERS on the team should encourage each other, not talk about each other, not criticize each other, etc... but it's the job of the COACH to view things with a critical eye. As a High School coach, I can say from experience that most young men do not respond positively when you keep patting them on the back and saying "it's ok that we've only made 1 field goal in 3 games, just keep trying!"
In my experience, upper-echelon athletes want to be pushed. They desire the pressure and the responsibility, and they're very aware when you're blowing smoke up their @$$. Rich wasn't joking around, if a kid tried out right now and could kick with consistency, he'd give him a shot. Our kickers need to know that their performance is not good enough for a Michigan player, and they need to put in some extra (voluntary) hours of practice if need be.

I don't usually watch the press conferences. Are the questions usually so lame? Lord. If I were an athlete, I'd die from boredom up there.

Obi is so frustrating. It seems like every time there is a play action or misdirection he bites on it. Where is the instinct to get to the ball? It seems like Saturday he always had a bad angle to the ball.
Also the Woodson BTN Icon thing was sweet. I will forever remember being in 8th grad and my oldest brother try to buy my Ostate ticket from me with $200 and his TV. I looked at my dad and he said “Its not enough for that ticket don’t do it.” Greatest game I have ever seen.

Denard rolling right and throwing back across the field to Stonum, wearing a defender like a shirt and dropping it in his arms. I'm glad Stonum can see now, and that if he's seeing a blurry streak on the field, it's just D Rob.

The only problem I really have with Denard's passing so far this year is it seems like he stares down his receivers. The interception he threw at :12 of the every O play video is a perfect example of that. DRob is looking at Tree the whole time, and the safety reads his eyes and moves across the field to tip the ball(and should have made the pick himself).
