Hart Loves Auburn Visit

Submitted by spacemanspiff231 on

There's an article on Rivals that goes over Hart's visit to Auburn.  Apparently he absolutely loved it and says it was a 9 out of 10.  The only thing that could've made it a ten, according to him, is if he would've committed.  Some things he cited as being so great is the joy and enthusiasm of the fans, the players and how those are representative of SEC football.  He's now done taking visits and says his decision could come at any time...

Yea why not.....not taking an official to Bama is a slighty good sign...keep in mind that Kris Frost i think was there too...so hope for the best!

And Dee is a lock.  My ex-roomie at UF knows Ricardo Miller(ex-teammate) very well and updates me from time to time.  Dee's a Michigan shoo-in as long as RichRod's job is secure.

Our shot at Dee has always been good.  However after the way the Auburn game ended, and the fact they have a pretty good dual threat of their own, it's warm weather, and the women are amazing I am not longer feeling very good about our chances of landing him.  Hopefully TomVH will give us an update in a few days and re-assures us that Dee is still high on us.

Has some work to do. The fact that he cancelled his Bama visit is actually a bad sign I think. Did he cancel any visits after our visit? Status quo was our best outcome, now that has changed... so this was a legit visit.

He didn't commit.  That's the main thing.  When the euphoria of that visit wears off, he'll realize that his heart is in Ann Arbor, not at Alabama's little brother.

I'm actually surprised at this reaction from Hart.  Auburn barely squeeked by in this game.  One accurate pass at the end from Clemson instead of that terrible pass and the results would've been decidedly different.  Aside from the fact that Auburn had a terrible first half and didn't look very solid in general.

Michigan's tradition might mean something to a kid from the upper midwest, but to somebody who's spent his whole life in SEC country where it's Bama/Auburn/Dawgs/Gators/etc/etc 24/7/365, the opportunity to jump up and touch the M banner may not mean a whole hell of a lot, especially given that most of Dee's high school years have been filled with media accounts of Michigan's troubles on and off the field.

A close friend of mine (who's an ND grad himself) went to graduate school for three years at Alabama, and his experience down there was that southern football fans didn't really give a shit about either ND or Michigan, or any northern team for that matter. It was all 'Bama, or Auburn, or some other SEC team.

As for Florida, the number of northern transplants in the Sunshine state might explain the interest in Michigan football, but in the rest of the deep south, I really doubt that's the case, as compared with southern football.
