OT- Iowa Schadenfreude

Submitted by BiSB on

So, we had a sorta bad, and almost REALLY bad, day.  But we ain't got NOTHIN' on Iowa.

And the good folks at BHGP were kind enough to place all of their Scott Tenorman Award nominees in the same thread.

A fun game is to count the number of words they use to complete the phrase "Fuck you, _________."  The list includes "offense," "defense," "special teams," Arizona," and "Alphabet," among many, many others.

Thanks very much.

My personal favorite:

I want to punch myself in the balls.

Followed thereafter by:

Mission accomplished.

That is some serious self-loathing.

Hats off, though to Mike Stoops, who seems to be trying to topple Mark Dantonio for Biggest Douchebag on Planet Earth. That guy needs to have a few bong hits before taking the team out onto the field. Man, he's high strung.

Let's give credit where credit is due.  Stoops took over a struggling program and seems to have it headed in the right direction, and as far as I can tell he's done it all the right way.  It sounds like youre calling him a douche for being intense, which is a great candidate for a "haters gonna hate" pic.  I just don't get why we have to find fault in every team/coach/fan that has any sort of success whatsoever.

I thought his handling of their last series was really strange.  They were under two minutes, did they really have to keep taking snaps?  Could they not take a knee?

Maybe there was some reason they had to keep going, I'm no football guru.  But all I could think is that they were only up by 7, and what if they fumbled.

I don't know about you, but all the talk I heard about Iowa is that they have the best defense (or in the top 3) in the nation and that Stanzi wasn't going to make the mistakes he made last year. They have a strong OL, 2 stud RBs, and talented WRs and TEs. Were they possibly overhyped? Yeah. But is it moronic to think that this team is in the top ten? Absolutely not.

but I was hoping they would be a high ranked team when we beat them later in the year.  This season is shaping up in a way that we could conceivably kick some serious ass; OR get our asses handed to us.

Very confusing

but wonder why someone would feel the need to scream "Horse Vagina" venting after a loss.  Maybe that was what he was planning to do next.

At least the Iowa fans had the good sense to freak out after a loss.

Iowa fans seem to respond with the appropriate amount of displeasure after a loss; other fan bases seem to overreact with the amount of displeasure after a win.  That is all.

Iowa was never that good.   2009 blessed them with a series of moments of tremendous luck.    Yes, there is some talent and some preparation there, but not enough to explain that extra helping of good ol' fashioned luck.

I'm glad to see their hearts ripped out.  I've actually been following along the past couple weeks in their threads mostly b/c I love reading their angst that Michigan is doing well.  And for the second straight week there were mutliple comments bashing Brian, which infuriates me that he is even brought up.

I've always liked BHGP, but reading some of their stuff from today, they seem to be really down on Denard (Some of his passing yardage comes from YAC?  You don't say!  His interception was not pretty?  Four words for you, ladies and gentlemen: People in glass houses ...) and on Michigan in general, for no apparent reason, other than that teams in the Big Ten who aren't M/OSU love to hate on M/OSU.

...with all that we have bitched about, UM is 3-0 with the offense working like a V6 getting ready to move up to a V8 soon while Iowa, whom many thought would be a power in the Big 10 this year, has lost.
