Could Umass beat uconn?

Umass is no ordinary fcs team IMO. Think a combo of a perfect week for a let down and a well coached team that executed their game plan perfectly. Hats off to Umass. Hopefully bowling green is not as good as Umass.

It'd be competitive. UMASS actually had a higher Sagarin rating going into this week (so according to that metric, UMASS would be expected to win). Both are similar, but Frazier (UCONN) hasn't looked that solid this season. UMASS's QB made several throws that Frazier hasn't so far. I think UCONN's lines probably would handle UMASS's over the course of a whole game, much like our O-Line did.

These are Jeff Sagarin's ratings for the teams we've played this year:

51 -- Notre Dame

69 -- UMass

80 -- Connecticut

So, according to that, yeah.  They probably could.  And since Temple (ranked #60) beat UConn today, I wouldd say they definitely could.

Incidentally, Bowling Green is ranked #108...so at least we've got that going for us next week.

so that would play into the game pregame mindsets, kind of like MSU playing CMU. I would favor UCONN to win because I feel they have the better talent, but today UMass showed me something on offense; I thought they executed well and they have the manpower to make that offense work. It would probably be a great game either way.

It doesn;t mean they will beat them everytime or most of the tiem if they played multiple times, but Umass is a good team with the capability to compete and beat many teams.
