I think/hope that not all of these are true injuries but that some might be precautions. UMASS is a strong FCS opponent, no doubt about it. However, it would be foolish for RichRod to not take this game as advantage to rest some of our guys who need it or are a little banged up.

Wow, so looking at our two deep we have
Cam Gordon backed up by Vinopal at FS,
Kovacs backed up by ??? at Bandit,
Thomas Gordon backed by Floyd Simmons at Spur,
and Mouton backed by Leach at WLB.
Does that sound right to you guys?
Man I hope that ??? kid behind Kovacs is a diamond in the rough.

I tried looking up ???'s star ranking, but he's surprisingly hard to google.

How do some of these guys who don't play get injured I wonder sometimes. I'm especially curious what happened to Ferrara. Was he celebrating too hard after the Notre Dame game? Did he and Barwis get in a slap boxing fight?

ummm, thats what happens when you practice 25 hrs a day

Ferrara was out before the Notre Dame game, iirc.

Were talking about practice.

Ten injuries . . . and of course 7 of them are on the defensive side of the ball, where we have no experience or depth.

It's just a link to a blog entry.

Does anyone have any updates on Woolfolk? I mean, okay, he's almost certainly out for the season, though I suppose like any injury, a miracle recovery is possible. I'm more concerned with his spirits. I haven't seen the camera on him at all. Has he been coming to the games? On the sidelines? Cheering the team? Is he coming to practices and film sessions still?
The secondary has been alright without him, they really have, but I would bet a dollar that some of that has to do with his senior coaching and leadership in the locker room and the meeting room.

I need to find out where he shops and we can race.

It looks like the Kroger off of industrial. I've heard that players shop there a lot too, which make sense because it's the closest store to campus.

I was dying to see MRob get into a game like this after we get up 25-30. I wanted to see him make pads explode.

Tomorrow is a challenge for our defense even when fully healthy. But seeing this, we clearly aren't. This is a good FCS team with a good offense from what I read. We'll need to continue the 2 game trend of winning the turnover battle.

I beginning to think Hemingway is never going to make it back.

I am an old WLB/SS/Center. Never got hurt on offense. Both knees and R wrist hurt playing D and still hurt 40 years later. All my injuries occurred during practice not in games. Any stats on injuries by poition out there? Are Defenders more likely to miss games than Offensive players? Are live practices just as likely to hurt you as games?
I asked Barwis about his injury prevention conditioning at a coaches clinic this past spring and they have a special set of exercises that all the players must do to protect neck and shoulders. I think for knee and ankles they rely more on bracing than conditioning. They brace all the O-lineman even if their knees are healthy and they brace/tape all ankles.

where we are something less than paper-thin?
Or maybe there is some thought of redshirting him?
Here's the official two-deep for this week, in which I note that Ray Vinopal is listed as "Ryan." (Is that Ray's real name? I don't think so, but who am I?) Also that James Rogers is about third on Michigan's list of "most games played as a Wolverine" on the current roster. As a wide reciever.

Furman has been practicing at Spur, which is Carvin Johnson/Thomas Gordon's position.
